Kawasaki Triples Club

Well, for as long as I've owned my S3, I've always wanted to own a blue one.
My S3 came to me as a box of bits, and no bodywork. It was pre-internet days, and the search started. I found a NOS tank ... it was red. I couldn't knock it back, and built the bike up as a red one.
Over time, I collected a spare set of bodywork, and ultimately had that set painted in blue.
A couple weeks ago, I did the swap, and I'm well pleased.
The question now, is how to best store the red bodywork. The tail piece and sidecovers are easily dealt with, so I guess it's the tank I would like thoughts on how to prepare it for longer-term storage.

Things don't rust in Oz do they ?

My shed is nice and dry, but I just want to be sure that the tank survives storage.

Looks great, now you just need to ride it overland to one of our UK rallys!

Perhaps put some 2-stroke oil in the tank and spin it so it coats the inside. Wrap in an old blanket to reduce any possible condensation. Don't use bubble wrap, you can get witness marks.

On my bucket list Malc. It was '07 when we visited your 'Kawasaki World', and we do want to head back over again. Not so sure about the overland ride though!

Good ideas Tony, thanks. Definitely will do the 2-stroke and blanket. I'm aware of the bubble wrap issue, but always worth mentioning anyway.

It does make me smile when I walk into the shed.

Blue makes the bike look smaller I think. Both versions look great.

Both colours are nice, but I liked the red so much I decided to do my 500 with it

I believe the blue ones are faster...
