I think if your vehicle is “historic “, you are ok for the low emissions zone, however, the ultra low emissions zone is different again

Well just had my day ruined, I thought my 1974 H2 was exempt even though it does produce its own emission zone !
Not according to the ULEZ site, so I live approx 2 miles inside the M25 in Orpington Kent and as of this August it’s going to cost me extra for my little hour of therapy.
I did read somewhere that there is an expected increase in the sale of portable angle grinders, black spray paint and gaffer tape can’t think how that reduces your vehicle’s emissions.

My 2003 Bonneville T100 was not compliant and I emailed Triumph with a copy of my Log Book. They kindly sent me back a Certificate proving that it is compliant free of charge :D . I then went on Theft from Londoners website and submitted my proof that it was exempt. I received an email saying they would respond within ten working days, however, within 20 minutes I received another email saying that my Bonneville was officially exempt from all the charges :D Thumbs Up
If you have an older 'non compliant' bike, it might be worth contacting the manufacturer for proof of compliance (I have heard that some charge for this service though).

I have heard that the website is throwing up lot's of incorrect answers.
Some of the RD club have said that one day they are not compliant, then next day they are, so perhaps they are working their way through correcting it?

I gave my brother the bad news this morning , he has just got his licence aged 60 and an RD400 and that is apparently not allowed to leave his drive without charge after August this year.
I suppose it’s a small charge to pay, once a week to legally pollute !

A coupla weeks back I noticed that the 'Low Emissions Zone' now starts at Jct 2 of the M1, I was staying overnight only just off Jct1... I ran the check on my car just in case. It passed that one, but... Who wants to go into London anyway??

It is possible to get an exemption by getting your bike tested at the TFL test centre in east London. Once passed DVLA informed and no more ulez charge. Costs £175 and 2 strokes pass the test easier than 4 strokes :smt102
Check website for details.

LC boys are getting passes so it's doable.

Apparently there are quite a few chargeable vehicles being offloaded cheaply within the zone now.. Andrea's looking at a nice cheap Camper Van.
