Hello All,

I replaced the RH oil seal SB20285 Part no 92049-012 but there is still a really small, but really annoying, oil weep from the seal.

Has anyone had an issue with this? Just wondering if I have missed something obvious.

Many thanks for any advice.

Not had a problem with the kick start shaft seal on my H2C in 45 years.
Buy a new seal and fit with care.
Has the filler/dipstick cap got its o ring in place?

RHS Gear shaft...

The shaft itself can rust right where it meets the lip of the seal, replacing the seal doesn't work since the rough shaft will simply rip it up again.
Is there enough depth to press in a second seal on top?

My shaft was rusty at rebuild time so I sawed it off and had the hole filled in.

Got the same problem, although seal has been in situ for over 13 years.

I am often reminded that the originality of the seal was unknown and that the opposite gear seal had been replaced many times.

Never a dull moment.

Thanks for the responses - appreciate them.

Yes dipstick has an o ring in place.

Good idea about the extra seal if room - will investigate that further.

Good to know at least I am not the only one with this issue…
