Not far off Stale my little viking buddy!!
I have never been over impressed with my h2c, although it pulls well enough and suffers from no surge whatsoever,i always felt a bit disappointed when i rode it. I recently put a set of 34mm vm rounslides on (cheers Malc ) and still it didnt float my boat.
Today i took it to the dyno and sorted it properly. I wished i had done it ages ago but you know how it is .. so many other things to sort.
Anyway i digress
First run 68bhp but wildy lean at the bottom and mirange. Dropped the needles to the centre clip (they were on the top clip ie leanest position. Wahay 71 bhp but still real lean at the bottom. Swapped the pilots a few times and ended up with 45 pilots (was 35).
The final icing on the cake was to liberally oil the foam filters as it just started to wander slightly lean flat out.
SORTED
75 bhp at the back wheel and it wheelies in first , change to second and it wheelies again!! I was grinning all the way home
I have put the second graph in as it shows the air fuel better. I am well pleased with this a/f ratio as it is near perfect 13:1 all the way and just slightly dips rich at the tail end which is what you want.
You also learn a lot too, i have learnt that is a waste of time revving MY motor over 7 as it has peaked, although it will continue to rev, it will accelerate faster by changing up just short of 7.
Incidentally i should mention that i was running 230 mains originally to err on the side of caution which explains why i was unimpressed
200 mains was the final choice, 45 pilots and middle clip on the needle. Oh and 2 turns out on the airscrew. Ticks over very strong at 1500 rpm.
Top tip of the day......... oil them foam filters . You wont lose any midrange , but it acts as a bit of insurance at the top end as it restricts the absolute flat out in top flow and keeps your pistons in one piece. And it keeps more dust out of your engine.. bonus ball!

sorry for hi - jacking your post Paul
Thanks guys i am well pleased with it. Stale, i dont think it matters too much what oil you use, but a light oil in a sprayer works best.

That sounds like a mid-week break for me. Get the overnight boat from Larne to be in Blackpool in the morning to get the bike sorted.
late boat back again. Thats B+B sorted as well as the bike.
