Crich Tramway Museum Display 7th July 2024

Post by johnnymoped »

Good afternoon guys,
I have made enquiries regarding the club showing at the above - the organisers are keen for us to display
This is the Sunday (a week) after next years Peak Rally so hopefully quite a few would like to attend.
They are looking for around 35 bikes so that we can display in the most prominent position which is outside the Red Lion pub.
Entry to the museum is free for those who are showing - please contact through me and I will do the rest.
Below is the organisers e-mail to me along with a couple of images:

John,
here's a few words for you to circulate to the Kawasaki Triples Club members and few pictures & flyers that you can use and can be shared to anyone. Nopthing is copyrighted.
Registration for the event is on a 'first come first served' basis but to ensure all the Triple owners get registered for the event I'll speak with the Tramway this coming week to look how we can get you all booked in in advance of the on-line system opening for everyone. That will require yourselves to commit to coming by February but once you are in, you're in.
Any questions just ask
Cheers
Jon

The Classic Motorcycle Day has been run at Crich Tramway Village near Matlock since 2017 by the Tramway staff, in conjunction with the Vincent HRD Owners Club volunteers. We get between 300 & 400 motorcycles on display every year, with all makes and sizes of machines, including Scooters. All exhibitors enter for free (pillion passengers have to pay), which includes free access to the museum and free tram rides all day.
Each year at the 'Classic Motorcycle Day', we give one club the opportunity to show us the best of their marque by letting them display outside the Red Lion pub (see the attached photograph of the Kawasaki Z1 line up in 2022), and that area can hold about 40 machines, maybe a few more at a squeeze.
To register for the event, exhibitors have to register on-line, on the Tramway website but registration doesn't open until spring in 2024.
On the day of the event (Sunday 7th July 2024), exhibitors arrive at the Tramway around 0830hrs with their exhibit number stuck on their headlight. They are checked in at the registration gazebo, given an envelope which contains a wristband, an event badge and information about the event. They are then guided down into the Tramway and to their allocated display area. The Red Lion pub being alongside the main tramlines. Entry for exhibitors closes at 1100hrs.
All riders are asked to wear their helmets when riding, not to ride fast and to give way to Trams (who wouldn't). The cobble roadway can be quite rough anyway and if its wet both the cobbles and especially the tram lines will be slippery.
We have a store for bike gear run by the Bloodbike volunteers, who will look after your gear for a small donation.
There are on site caterers and we usually have a band of some description.
We request a flypast by the BBMF each year and have managed one in the last five years with three cancelations by them due to some kind of technical faut or the weather.
We ask that all exhibitors stay in the Tramway as long as possible as that is why the paying public come along on the day. Having said that, you are free to leave whenever you wish.
If you wish to start your engines during the event, feel free as we are in a rural location. In 7 years we have never had a complaint but we hope to keep it that way.
We have an event page on Facebook called Crich Tramway Village 'Classic Motorcycle Day and this is a link - https://www.facebook.com/tramwayclassicmotorcycleday/

Morning Guys,
Very good response locally for this event - it is however a National event and ALL club members are very welcome.
I am talking to the organisers next week - so if there are any other people interested could you let me know please?

Morning Guys,
Has anyone else registered please? Could do with knowing so that I can let the organisers know Thumbs Up
There are 18 going from the East Midlands area.
I understand that there less than 50 show area spaces left - this is for the entire site.

So - 28 triples registered with the organisers - they are pleased and we will definitely have prime position - well done guys Thumbs Up
As an added bonus there will be a fly past of a Lancaster bomber and most likely a Spitfire and Hurricane on the day 8)
Looks like it's going to be a good day.
