Anyone getting there early? I’m going up Thursday afternoon with a view to a final reccie of the ride out route on Friday.

Sadly, only got back home from my European tour late on Monday, completely knackered, and had no time to finish getting the H2 ready, so will be leading the ride out on a modern bike. πŸ™„

And before you ask, no, the Miners Standard does not allow bonfires! 🀣

I asked for tomorrow off so I could finish my H2, but was told in no uncertain terms that I had no chance :(

If not my 69 H1 will be making it's usual Peak rally appearance

I could go into work for you Gary.. Do you think they would notice? :D

Only two days to go and someone else is trying to fk our weekend up  , but we are still good to go at this time.

Today I cleaned and gapped the Plugs, cleaned and gapped the points, put half a turn on the Chain adjusters, cleaned... No I didn't go that far. H2 is ready to go.

I was up at 4 getting an hour and half in before work this morning.
Kinda reminds me of me getting rally ready 20 years ago.
See you tonight Thumbs Up

That's dedication Gary, I've used a rag, wd40 and pumped the tyres up, it's taken me longer to get it strapped onto the trailer.

Having missed the NE Rally due to a shite forecast which was wrong, I'm totally ignoring it this time. So as long as the Mongrel is willing, I'll be there for the Saturday.

I'm sure I saw somewhere that the ride out was 10:30 but now I can't find it, so can someone confirm that? Ta!

Great weather, great company, great rideout and great chippie run! A great rally!
Felt sorry for the young girl doing her duke of edinburgh award whos tent was right against my microns when i started bike this morning, talk about an early morning alarm clock!!! I did say i was going early but she still pitched there, fair playπŸ‘
Left at 5am in end ( up at 3.45am) got home at 10am with 2 fuel stops.
The night before i left i went to torque down the middle and right hand heads as recently changed both gaskets on them and one of the nuts on the center cylinder started just spinning, not sure if just stripped thread at nut or base of threaded stud spinning, need to investigate further - but i got back and thats all that matters!
Be boring without something going wrong!
Cheers all and nice to see everyone again, right its back into my padded room wearing my best white jacket with arms that do up at the back, until i can escape again for the next rally!!

Well done Mark. Outstanding achievement on a 250 with all that gear. I left at around 8:30 3 fuel stops and home at 12:30. Only 220 miles going home though. Still averaging 55 miles an hour.

I left at 8:30 ish and arrived home at 12:30. 220 miles and 4 fuel stops. Averaging 55 miles per hour. Which is quite amazing actually :D

Thanks all great weekend, like the pic yes that was me before I lose my head!
Some good news, after investigation its only the top thread thats stripped on the barrel stud so a fairly straightforward replacement, glad it wasn't the other end!
Lots of adventure bikers out and about on the way back, appears there rally is the same weekend as ours, heres me having a cuppa surrounded by adventure bikers in the services on the M1. I thought i was carrying a lot of gear but defo not in there league, no wonder they always falling over! 😱
