Hi All
Just had a crank rebuilt for a h1, 0.007” run out is the worst I can find. I’m thinking this is no way good enough ?
The setup Is good with no movement. Manual says max 0.0024”

No, that's atrocious! I wouldn't accept any crank that's got more than a couple of thou, which should be well within the reach of even a moderately skilled crank builder.
When I build a crank I'm not happy with anything much over a thou.

When i rebuilt my h2a crank in 1986, it wouldnt true which was due to a bent crank web where the big end shaft wasnt true to the web or centre shaft ! I suspect a manufacturing hiccup as this bike had a history of eating bearings before i got it. A replacement web from a scrap crank off Rick solved it!

I’m not happy with it. A well known Liverpool based company are going to sort it for me. Thanks for the reply’s. Just to make it clear they were not the original people who rebuilt the crank.
