Kawasaki Triples Club

I've just bought my first non-triple and a four stroke that isn't a Z in over 20 years and just can't believe these where under my nose all the time.

The bike in question is a gorgeous un-restored 1977 Suzuki GS750. What a peach this bike is to ride, performance on a par with the later Z900 (though not as quick as an earlier Z1) with handling that literally runs rings around the big Zeds. I've owned numerous Z1/Z900s in the past so I'm not guessing.
Can't believe how under the radar these bikes are?

I was always intoxicated with the style and 4 pipes of the 900 and took no notice of the GS750 back in the day but now I actually love the styling - have owned it since March and covered a 1000 miles on it. I've been in a knee brace and unable to ride for over two months this year otherwise the miles would be a good deal more.

I had it's big brother in 1980. The GS thou handled better than my Z1,but then it was new and I hadn't crashed it much at that stage,so maybe unfair to the old Z1.

I always thought the GS750 was a very tidy looking bike,though I never rode one. A mate had a GS550,it was a decent bike too.

I think the GS1000 sort of eclipsed the 750 so it has been largely forgotten/overlooked?

Forgot to say that I paid £4000 for mine, a low owner (with a history back to the original buyer), it has now done just over 30k and completely original. The purchase price also included a load of NOS spares and an original shimming Suzuki shimming tool with a ton of shims!

You'd pay maybe 3 times that for an equivalent Z900? But don't get me wrong I love the big Zeds the GS only exists because of the Z1!

I think they were a bit too good, so unfairly labelled as “boring”?

Absolutely loved mine, I remember making a shim tool, curved with an increasing thickness to lower the bucket! Wonderful bike

I did the same thing for the Z1 valve tool. Still have it lying around somewhere!

After selling my S3A in 1978 bought GS750.
Did TT with it.

Have to agree - lovely bikes. I had probably one of the first GS550E (alloys and 3 discs), in the country. No problems at all but always thought I should have got the 750 - and still looking!!
