Was the frame specifically built for H2 or was it for an other bike?

JP, the first prototype specific H2 frame that Harris built was ordered by a friend of mine and I built the bike for him, this was in 1976. It used Ceriani forks, Lockheed brakes, Offenstadt wheels and a De Carbon suspension unit.

It went through various owners, trial and tribulations including being slung down the road on more then one occasion

The last I heard of it until recently was that it was sold to a motorcycle dealer from Chingford in Essex called Neil Harris ( no relation) who was later killed in an road accident.

Now I believe the bike is in the hands of Mark Speight(Tangoman on this board) I am sure he can confirm

Egli frame 9 built (according to Fritz Egli)
Tony Foale 3 built (according to Malc A.)
Martin special frame on the eighties 6 built (according to Georges Martin)
Harris (1 or more built?)

No for H2 original framed
Rickman was a triumph engine first
Rau was made for a Z1 engine
Martin look like Egli was usally for CB 750 or Z1 first

This was built as a road going H2 JP, all the standard H2 parts also fitted forks, wheels, electrics etc. The battery and a small fabricated oil tank fitted in the seat. We fitted it originally with a modified H2R fairing with twin Cibie lights cut into the front I think that has probably long since departed this world though

Hey JP don't forget Rickman and Seeley!! Rog and myself nailed a Seeley H2 together back in the 80's?? for Nick Joy....think he has a photo. Cheers Rob

At my knowledge, there were never Rickman H2 frame and I'm not the only one to think this.

JP, I will phone Steve Harris today and see if he can remember how many were built, we are still in contact, he does moulding work for my company.

But he is even older than me so maybe his memory is not so good now

Yeah you are probaly right about Rickman JP. Look at www.pulstudio.com for a nice H2 Rickman....guessing its a Z1 frame????

I still have the harris framed H2 aiming to get it on the road this year

The seely frame, was it made originaly for H2?

The harris frame is a tz lowboy with added plates for the engine.
I also have one hopefully restored this year.

JP - I think so - I'm no expert, but I bought the rolling chassis separately & the engine from my H2 fitted perfectly.
It didn't look like the chassis had been modified from how it was manufactured.

The frame was plated (nickel, I think - do you remember Rob ?), so I think mods would be obvious.

Actually - I think it was a Seeley frame as that's what it said in the advert when I bought it - I suppose it could have been anything - I wouldn't have known...

Incidentally - I sold the H2 rolling chassis for £100...

If I knew then what I know now (which is quite a bit less probably, due to beer & wine) I'd have bought it off meself...

I think the chap that bought it was from Portsmouth.
I guess I sold it 1993 or so.

so real H2 Seely frame but at first for racing use or road use

Don't know for certain JP
I bought the rolling chassis only.
There were no road parts (light/horn brake light etc) so probably built for racing.
