then done the yearly oil change.

Same here. My H1F needed exercising. Crisp freezing afternoon. It was worth it. BUT ... my toes are black now

Hi Yes I fired up "Currently The Only Candy Lime Green H1d in the Uk" this morning emmmmmmmmm you cant beat the smell of 2 stroke on a cold winters day

Begs the question. Should gearbox oil need changing that often? The Kawasaki service manual says every subsequent 2,000 miles after running the engine in from brand new.

The average Car (a daily work horse) requires a gearbox oil change at ~6 years or 75,000 miles (which ever is the soonest).

If anything brake fluid should be changed a lot more often. The Kawasaki service manual says yearly. Also 'bench marking' against the average car, the suggested schedule for brake fluid change is closer in frequency, say three (3) years.

For brake fliud it is more about water and air ingress than anything else, so NEW brake fluid makes sense (not the old tin that has been kicking around in the garage since the last change).

Just some food for thought...?

Probably right Pete, I usually find even for the small use in year for each bike the oil looks like it could do with change. I guess the clutch does the damage! So cheap i just do it for all my bikes beside the Thundercat that has synthetic & i leave that for two years!!

Thinking about it though, maybe the Thundercat would be more justified for a yearly oil change as it is the oil is common to engine and gearbox.

For a Triple it is just the gearbox (but I guess the triple is more prized).

Better still, don't put any oil in them at all.
