riding to work on a bike in the snow!!

my mate was undeterred by the snow this morning and set off to work!!

Done that on my H2 many years ago and i never fell off.
But those days are long gone now,lol

I remember having to get off my Fs1E to kick the snow out of the spokes because it was slowing the bike down on my way back from Work. Those of you who owned fizzies probably recall that when fitted with the metal spark plug caps, in rain and snow the water used to get in and short out the electrics. This resulted in much kicking over until it started again, I still have a scar on my 15 hole docs where i hoofed the fizzy in anger and frustration and the rr brake pedal bit me.
Oh and if you leave the rubber boot off the centre coil in the pouring rain like I did, the HT system shorts down into the motor through the clutch cable and into the clutch lever, so when u chainged gear u got 10 000 volts through your sodden leather gloves.....
such fun we had

Yep rode to work many a time on my KH500
only a 20 mile round trip in those days

Yep! Eighteen years old CY1977, a KH500 and six inches of snow. Nightshift at Cummins in Daventry, a 10 mile ride but only took me 30 minutes to get there.
In the morning it was another 2 inches deep and it took me two hours to get home. Not so much because of the snow, just all the other cars and trucks stuck and blocking the road.

I remember a mate turning up at another's house on his XL125 in similar conditions..
Then the fooker wouldn't start, we couldn't bump it cos the rear wheel just skidded (so did we), one brave soul tried yanking the back wheel round by hand (in gear), we eventually gave up and left the thing there, I gave him a lift home.. in the car.

this is the main trouble with snow, not you but the cars and trucks blocking the road
