Kawasaki Triples Club

Great Weekend seeing everbody again - (Thank God I did not see Roger in his underpants early Saturday Morning Though )
And at last the Club has been rewarded for all the hard work that has been put in over the past couple of Years - The Best Club Stand Donington 2007 - Well done All

Although no disrespect I thought that the Award for Best Kawasaki at a Classic Show was a little strange - ZXR750 ?
Really nice Bike & Owner though but is a 1989 Machine now a Classic Bike? hmmm

Yeah! If that's the case I think I will be taking my ZX7R soon as I am sure it will win a prize if that ZXR did?

Anyway, the triples were the best bikes there and I am sure we pulled the most visitors to our stand so the award was well justified.

Apart from the show we also had a great crack on Friday and Saturday evening, and I wish I had taken a picture of Roger in the early hours of Saturday morning.

got to agree keith i cant see how a zxr is a classic!!
its all escalating out of control because the vjmc is sticking to its 15 years old and your a classic rule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????
modern classic maybe but should be in a different class?
maybe need to split it up more but then the donington show is a bit sparse on the awards front given the size of the show.?
i heard the organisers say the little 200cc bridgestone was exceptional but we have no class for it(best there in my view!!)
also said they would have to put the offroaders in with the racers!!!! again no trophy
and only awards for 1st and 2nd in each class??
what about third!!!!!!!!!
if the club stands were not there it would be little more than a"carboot" sale type event???

I have to agree with all the comments on this page. If one of our bikes could not win best Kawasaki, we may as well pack in now.
FKIN pointless. The pratts turn down a nice Bridgestone because of no class but have classes for best paint and best chrome. How the FCK can you judge best chrome. I would not be too upset if we stopped supporting this show.
Many thanks to the folks from the VJMC who voted for OUR stand as best at show. This prize is paid for and voted for by the VJMC.

i have known and dealt with mr greewood for many yrs and from glorified car autojumbles to advertised proper vintage shows,
he has the most awful tasteless judges on board,

dont really know about the donnington show although it does seem like a proper vintage show up front....but !!??
back to the worst judging calls,

i have my doubts about who does the judging.
but they was correct on one point,

the triple club win !!

the vjmc did the judging for the best stand.
and i know the name of the person who judges the bikes.
i spoke to him at donington as he thought he may have been the origial owner of my h1r!
as it turned out he probabley wasnt

i bet the guys with vincents and triumphs said the same thing about our kawasakis a few years back.

i remember at knebworth a few years back my h2 came second to a greeves

spoke to the judge aftrewards and [cant name him here] and he said,"its the 50th anniversary of that bike and he had to win !"

No Brian, that was the ONLY class that was not judged by Mr. Greenwoods judge. The members of the VJMC vote on that category and supply the money and the trophy. Gawd knows what would have won best club stand had old greenback been allowed to do it
