VJMC Classic Motorcycle Show

Post by 666rog »

Hi all. For some time now, the VJMC have been planning a show and auto jumble to celebrate there 25th birthday. They have invited all classic clubs. It is to be held at Uttoxeter racecourse over the weekend of 7th and 8th July, 2007.
At the Donington show, the club Committee voted to support this show provided enough members were will to put a bike on show. As our events organiser, Richard Young, cannot make it, we decided that I would attempt to organise this on his behalf.
I spent some considerable time talking to VJMC member, and KTC member, Doug Perkins, about this show over last weekend.
It does sound very good. We are offered our own indoor space (all bikes are under cover) our own camping area, a bar reserved for exhibitors and hopefully entertainment. They are going to have club parades around the racecourse. The weather should be good at this time of year. The downside is that it is 1 week after our rally. What i need is a commitment from anyone who wants to attend and show a triple. I need this fairly quick to let the VJMC organiser know. Please pass this message on to every triple owner you know and get back to me on the usual contacts published in the mag or PM on here or Simons site.
Look forward to hearing from you. Rog.

The timing of this event is not good even if it wasn't a week after the Northern. So many people are on holiday at that time so I am even wondering whether that will affect the number of visitors that they get?

We can go, Uttoxeter is near to us, don't know about showing bikes though, Draper has to get his fixed and we don't think they are 'show standard' but would be more than willing to help out. We can camp so we can have a drink, but take note camping room at Uttoxeter Racecourse is limited.

If you want our help we will make sure that Mrs. Harv doesn't wear her 'I love my Honda' T-Shirt!!!

I am planning to go. I expect to take my H2A as a first choice but if there is any reason for it not being ready then it will either be the H2B or H1F.

Also I plan to ride to the show as opposed to hiring a van.

Malc 87, Re Exhibition Display Stands you can use FOC

Post by Harv »

Have found some pics, not brilliant, but will give you an idea.

Picture 1

Image

The backdrop I have is made up of 10 panels, same as the silver grey one in picture but kit I have is mid blue, as per cube in picture 2. It is freestanding and I also have 4 spotlights. You do not need to use all 10 panels.

Picture 2

Kit 2 is the display cube you can see. This is the colour of the matching backdrop, mid blue.

Both kits have mid blue felt on one side, for displaying pictures etc. sticky velco works best. The other side is white drywipe boarding.

Both kits are bagged and easy to assemble. The spotlights have 2 pin plugs.

Let me know if your interested.

Rog,

I'd like to go, but my usual partner in crime can't do Beaulieu, the Northern and Uttoxeter, so I'd be on my own. That being the case, I would bring my standard S2, but I'm trying to get my Stinger on show one way or another to make the trip viable. Sorry that's a bit vague, but that's the best I can do for now.
