S1 Piston size

I just started to sort out my s1 project to check what I needed and whats useable or not the engine number on cases says S1 but when I took heads of to check condition all looked ok pistons on std but bore mesaured about 53mm does this mean S2 barrells + heads fitted and is this ok or will it cause problems thanks

Yep its a 350..How many fins does the barrel have? It could be that you have bored out early s1 cylinders.

Think it's 6 on S1 and 7 on S2. If you look at the bottom of the cylinder, can't remember if it's left or right side of the engine, the cc is cast in the cylinder.

I thought that early S1's where sleeved down S2's (hence the ability to bore them out )

I have counted fins 7 on the middle cylinder + 6 and a half on outer cylinders but cant see any casting to say cc

done back in the day then, will have ground the cc off

7 fins mean S2 barrels
6 fins mean S1
