Kawasaki Triples Club

Just been browsing thru some old kawasaki triples club newsletters from the US and saw an answer from Tripleman saying there was a difference between the H1 69/70 rear fenders. I have an idea what it maybe but someone here must know for sure??? BTW anyone know who Tripleman was back then.....I suspect RB ??!!

Hmmm? - I think the only detail between the 69 H1 & 70/71 H1.s early stainless Steel Rear Fenders was that the 69 H1 ones had no hole with a little grommet in the fender - It gets hidden by the Number Plate.

+1 Keith is right as usual, there is also two types: short US and longer (just a little) euro model on earlies H1 69 to 72.

I suggest you spunk the $75 for the one Scouse found on ebay.

Yep - maybe I didn't resize it quite right...

On the bright side - you should be able to clearly see all the holes & suss what mudguard it is Rob !

Thanks Nick and Cheers Scouse just took a look at that fender on eBay US........it has the hole with grommet in!! Mmmmmm lets see what Bretty has in the next container!!!

I have just checked my 69 and the rear guard has a hole in it for the grommet

Also have another rear guard marked up 69 h1 and that also has a hole and a grommet

mine is a late 69, so maybe it was the early ones that did not have the hole?

my bike is very original, wheel rims, shocks, seat, maybe it has had a rear smash?

who knows ?

Was looking at an EARLY 69 on Ebay frame no 1354.......yep its gotta hole and grommet on rear fender! BTY Gary what is your frame no......just being nosey! Cheers Rob.

Sound ,mine is KAF 04210 so it would have had a grommet....yippee don't have to buy ANOTHER one. Now onto the US vs UK length thang! I am building a red 70 with a NOS rear guard bought in UK so will measure against a known US one......JUST to be sure the UK H1a I have had for 25 years and now at Mums has a NOS rear guard that I know will be UK spec cos I bought it NEW back in the late 70's from Daytona in Ruislip....think it cost around £20!!!!!

cool, I have 2 UK H1A's both with long guards and a UK H1B with a long guard

my 69 is from the US, but I might just fit a UK long guard

Right done some measuring and ALL of my rear guards are 7 and 1/2 inch from last mounting hole to end of guard in a sraight line so am guessing all are US as Nicks h1b is US and same . Will have to wait to go to mums to do the UK one....it can't be that much longer can it??? AND it has hole for rear reflector if I recall???!! Gary getting a bit anal now but what date codes are your rims?? I know I'm a sad barst so slap me at the Southern.

Yep so do mine!!!!..........and they are off a 70, 25th built I'll have you know....wish the 69 was !
