Well???? Has no one got nothing to say about the Rally?? What about some pictures guys, I will when I can....
Got scorched (yes! burnt me arms) on Friday, it rained most of the day Saturday but some hardy souls got a ride out anyway, and packed up in the dry on Sunday.
Lots of new faces, we made some new friends, there were lots of very nice bikes, many already dirty...... We had the Norwegian gang, The French connection, the Germans, and even the Welsh had an entry.. nice bike DD.
Thanks to Malc and the guys at MFNs for a great venue, I believe it is already booked for the 2008 Rally...
And cheers everyone who turned up, raspberries to those who couldn't be arsed.
Great event

Yes Graham great event weather on Saturday was crap but very good turnout Friday. Stayed fine for Friday night ride followed by a visit to the local Indian.I also took many pictures will pass on as i cannot put on site.
Landlord Duke (Malcolm) was a real top guy, loves his bikes and i am sure has a soft spot for the triples thou his habit "his words" Harleys is his first love.
Really good to see so many new members turn up & yes those guys from Norway deserved their medals for the distance they covered.

No. In the garage taking the engine out so I can get the crank re-built. Ask me a friken nuther!!!
Bike was stonkin on the way home until something in the crank case decided it was going to wreak havok with the left hand cylinder etc. Must have been something rattling around in there cos the left hand con rod has about 1.5mm of play and my magnet picked up bits of metal from 2mm to 0.5mm in size, also there is some peaning around the pistone skirt.
What ever it was showed evidence that it made its way from the skirt area of the piston, then up the transfer ports to the top but apart from some superficial marks the top end was saved. I think this was because my ears have got so used to telling my right hand when to shut of the gas, just when you hear the engine start to falter slightly, but also I was only two miles from home.
Good news is that the piston, rings and cylinder are all OK. Bad news is the crank needs to come out for a rebuild. but 'hey ho', such is life eh! Guess I will definately be keeping the bike now anyway,
Should have taken the ZX7R, used less than half the gas, got there in half the time with an un-bustable power plant that you can bounce off the rev limiter all day long!!!! Why do I bother with these dinosour triples? Well I guess it gives me something to write about, they are more tempamental than a woman and I wouldn't be hanging around with you lot either.

.
Apart from that (and the rain) it was a great weekend! So, roll on the Southern,

I got a load of pics and a bit of video that i am going to put on disc. The video is of the bikes leaving on Fri. for their run and of the line-up for judging on Sat. I am going to send one to Rick and one to any of the committee members who can then pass a copy on to anyone who wants one. I will of course forego my usual copyright fee on any of my high quality work being reproduced.

That puts our 70miles in a horsebox into perspective doesn't it!
Glad to hear you all made it home with a full parts count on the bikes..
