ntr looking for a lathe

anybody know of anyone selling a colchester student lathe , i have a few projects on the go and need bite the bullet and buy a lathe and chris ritchie recommended this lathe as the one to get

no cause i got sidetracked and some other git brought the other one i was lookin at,it seems that the colchester as chris says is a excellent lathe but they way more than 5 z1,s

At least your garage floor is concrete. My workshop is a wooden floor. I wouldn't stand a chance. Give Roger a ring, can't hurt.

Gary, don't be put off by the weight. I moved mine about and into place using a pallet truck and a engine hoist. And don't forget - you only have to move it into place the ONCE! This is THE perfect sized lathe for a small workshop/garage. It's sturdy enough to do decent sized work and it will last forever. Everything on it is adjustable and when set up you will be amazed at the accuracy it can achieve. You will be able to do head skimming, squish's, make collars, wheel spindles, blah de blah de blah, you get my drift.
I have lots of experience with them so could come up and help you set it up. Actually, I bet there's lots of guys that know these little lathes really well that live by you that could help out also.Plus, I have crap loads of tooling to fit it that you can have.
I would estimate it will go for about £800-£900 as it looks nice with plenty of tooling. Seems a lot now but you will always get a good price when you go to sell it and it will be a nice thing to use.
