oil pump.

reinstalling my oil pump on the h2 after fitting new "o rings and one of the threads came out of the banjo hole..i know this happens a fair bit but is it a problem?..i can still tighten up to the point where it feels tight so can i leave like that happily !.

Leaving it depends on how much worry you can stand, it'll natter you every time you ride... I would get it helicoiled or I have seen larger threads tapped in and bigger bolts fitted.

It is very common these days, after thirty odd years of tightening and loosening by big hairy bikers.

Leave it, it will be ok. Whats the worst that can happen? A bit of air sucks in, cylinder seizes cos air isnt as good as oil for lubing, locks back wheel as you go round a bend and you leave a H2 shaped hole in a stone wall next to a couple of bunches of fresh flowers.

Perhaps go for the Helicoil !

When drilling for the insert [ helicoil] it must be true, or the bolt will not pull washers flat to the banjo, resulting in leaking oil ,
Mind to clean the swarf out properly also, :wink:
