went to the festival of 1000 bikes at mallory park last week.Reintroduced after many years,it turned out to be a brill weekend and will get a lot better. An advance weekend ticket was £18 with £3 a night camping per person.A mate of mine paid £45 for the full monty INCLUDIN 3 track sessions on saturday and 1 on sunday(very busy day!).Although the majority of bikes on and off track were british(1900's-1970's) there were still the kettle,z1,cbx vjmc and various italian clubs represented. At one point, there were 18 gt750's on track with the gold star club-guess which crossed the line first after 20 minutes flat out!!.plus Jamie Whitham blasting round on Mick Grants KR750-3 racebike dicing with Ian Simpson and Steve Spray on rotary race nortons and Charlie Williams on a TZ amongst others including multi cylinder hondas -amaazin sight and sounds-believe me they wern't angin about!MALC,YOU'D A LUV'D IT!!For those that remember Doug Perkins,(now vjmc) he was there on his 500 H1a and I saw a mint purple h2c and red s3. WE HAVE GOT TO ORGANISE SOMETHING FOR NEXT YEAR.IF WE'RE STRUGGLIN FOR A RALLY SITE FOR NEXT YEAR,WHY NOT HAVE IT THERE?THERE'S A BIG MARQUEE WITH 24HR BAR N BAND ON SAT. NIGHT PLUS A SMALL PUB ON SITE OR IF YOU'RE SOBER HAVE A RIDE ON THE TRACK! Av a think about it-should be good for a debate.....
