easy eric, you sound like you are having a go there mate.

I personally think they are the same. I have just looked on mraxl brilliant site for you and it only shows this

http://3cyl.com/mraxl/partid/sprocketcv ... ketcvr.htm

as i said though, i am fairly sure they are they same. Mind you i am no expert

The KH500 one is unique, I do know that at least, only for the 1st down gear pattern written on it

I was having a little dig Dave, not meant to be nasty
I checked the part numbers on Dale`s H1 and H2 site myself and they are the same apart from a couple of extra numbers on the H2 which I assume could refer to finish. I have a spare H1 cover so I did not want to rush out and spend a fortune on a H2 cover if the H1 fits.
Thanks anyway Dave.

Apologies all round if anybody offended.

early h1 chain covers pre H1B had no hole and no lettering

I think H1B had the hole but no lettering (don't quote me on this)

DEF had hole and lettering for the gears

as did the KH

eric I have a h2 engine sat on me bench

I also have a H1 sprocket cover kicking about

not got time to see if they line up till Monday

Cheers Gary, I tried the cover off my H1a on the H2 I bought of Rick and it looked OK but Rick thought they were a bit longer. Anyway I bought an H1 cover off Ebay no oil hole or numbers. So next question  Would that be right for a 72 H2 :?:
