who cares! the man will be a legend for centuries to be the only one to get GP motos world champion and formula 1 world champion.

Having met the guy (and his late son) several times I can tell you that he is a kind, gentle and generous man, always free with his time and appreciative of other people's talents and achievements. He is a gentleman and a true sportsman, well worthy of such an honour.

I have no problem with John Surtees. I do admire the guy
The guy has achieved some staggering successes, but I do not hold with the "honours" system at all.
I have not and will not call anyone Sir - not since I left school at least. I really hate that antiquated system. All men (and women) are equal in my book
