The original fuel tap on my H1 allows a lttle petrol to drip through when standing - I know the possible consequences of leaving this but:
Any cure sugggestions please?
or do I go down this route

There are rebuild kits out there. The after market ones are questionable at best as far as flowing enough fuel.

I have lost count how many times I have used rebuild kits on my H1e and from all different people at all different prices. The last "o" ring I had was from Jessbikes for I think $10 dollars and after a few days it was leaking again. I have bought the after market tap now but when that came it had a spare lever and washer and a note to say they have had complaints of them leaking . I have not tried it yet so do not know if that is any good. Obviously it must be down to the fuel destroying the rubbers but which kits do you use that gaurantee that this will not happen? By the way it needs to have the "o" ring as well.

I see that doremi now do a h series tap repair kit, its about £40 + tax & p&p.

Where is it leaking from on the petcock?

Only out of the petrol pipe to the carb.
No external leakage.

I've had this on my last 2 H2's and fixed them both by replacing the tiny O ring in the diaphram housing and the 4 hole gasket behind the tap. Bought them from Cradley Kawasaki (01384 633455). If you change the tiny O ring, BE CAREFULL when opening the diaphragm. It's really delicate and very easy to tear if it's stuck to the joining faces. You'll probably find the old O ring is hard and has no give left in it like the new one should have.
After fitting it I refit to the tank, put a bit of fuel in it and watch for drips. They can be as little as one drip every 30 seconds but that's enough to overflow one of the carbs. I fit the vaccum pipe and suck it a few times to work the new O ring in until I get NO drips at all.

I'd replace both while you're at it. O ring No. 92055-044 £4.48 and gasket 92065-055 £7.46
I suspect though that it's just the O ring as the old one's were both hard and inflexible. New ones by contrast were softer and more flexible and presumably able to seal more efficiently.
