Excellent day!
Cracking ride out. Absolutely caned the 400 and she didn't let go so I guess all's fine with the motor despite the air bubbles in the oil lines and the clattering from the engine. Followed a group of about half a dozen through the twisty stuff before we got onto the Bridlington road. As we got to Garrowby Hill the 400 was wanting to pull harder so I thought feck it and she stormed up the hill past em all pulling hard. A couple of miles past the brow a powervalve stuffed me for top end but I was well pleased.
On the way back had a good thrash too. I was snapping at the heels of a couple of powervalves through the twisty stuff again. Bloody straight line merchants. With my ancient tyres and 25 year old shockers off my GP100 I shouldn't have even got close to them. My mate Terry came on my GPZ for the experience. He's only just passed his test and couldn't believe how well these old 2 strokes go. Back at Squires he heard one of the powervalve riders complaining to his mate "One of them fuckin' squeaky-braked triples passed me on the inside - it's just not on"
Loved it. Even ticked off one of my 'to do list'. Ever since I was a child I've wanted to go in a side car. Greg was there with his East German MZ outfit. It's not set up right and the car is still on the 'wrong side'! It was scary in the car park never mind the open road.

It was a great ride back to Squires, bit disjointed on the way out but with over 100 riders that's to be expected, good fun though, bit surprised that the 350 ypvs weren't that fast, no problem passing them out of corners down the fast bits, and I passed one or two up the inside, but if they will go so slow into corners..................lol

Powervalves are fast enough, it just depends who's on them

I managed to arrive to a near empty car park Must try harder next year !
Still there was some nice bikes around ( a nice RG500, Mr Lister's Levis and a Silk ) I also saw my old powervalve and I agree with whoever said it's down to the pilot.....
Nearly got home and the clutch cable gave way. Hey ho !
Cheers
