Here are some pics of my winter project.
These are some of it when I got it.
I will add some more as it goes back together.
So far the engine has been rebuilt with recon crank and the burnt selectors and gears replaced and shimmed. Frame powder coated and tank and panels painted in Kawasaki lime green.
Got some chambers too.

Thanks for the replies.
Have nearly finished the engine I have blacked the barrels and heads for now and will get them properly cleaned when I get it rebored at a later date. Crank has been done by mr Appleby and I have rebuilt the gearbox as some of the selectors were burnt and needed re shim.
Have got new plug wire and caps coming so will change all of them.

Liking that Steve!! ...............heard good and not so good about your choice of crank builder . I for one will only get mine done by Mr Clarke aka downpipe 3 of this very club . Keep them photos coming

Got the paintwork back, I asked for original candy blue and then changed my mind to Kawasaki lime green but the message never got through. glad it didn't as I like it lots.

Looking really nice there , as to crank had my Kettle one done by Mr Appleby 6000 miles ago and no probs yet so you will hopefully be ok

Yes I had my Kettle one done as well by him I have heard mainly good things of him so I will see how it goes.

Nothing to worry about a crank done by c appleby, he did my H2C crank with labyrinth seals 25 years ago & its now done over 40,000 miles :smt023

did you also buy the 1970 rolling chassis that the engine in your H1A came out of?

the same seller had it and it had a title, although the frame had been raked?

No but I do have the paper work for the frame i do have which is of the same year. The raked frame looked shite.

yeah, it did, but you could have found a donor frame and restored a 70 using the raked frames number instead of a H1A

having a spare 1970 frame and a set of H1A cases, I thought about buying them both, but i have too many projects as it is

+1, he can also dynamically balance cranks which makes a difference on bone shaking H2's :smt023

I have never had any work done by chris appleby, but he has been around for ever. I come from souffend originally and he was the local choice and a load of my mates had RD cranks done by him nearly 35 years ago.
