Now even as a young man i was never into checking everything i got my hands on but recently i decided to check through DVLC and a £5 fee on my early 1973 h2 in blue because a friend said the frame number would be a gold h2a. well having brought the bike as long ago for the thompson twins to be topping the charts a letter arrived from DVLC sat morning confirming that its not blue but a gold h2a <but its got a blue front mudguard >. the colour was indeed changed in 1978 by a mr robert william allen ..robert you have destroyed me !...so what would you do ?..keep it blue or follow todays fashion to be abs tip top original...

These Uk H2As are so common i think you should sell it to me.

for sure with 30 sold new in UK on 1973, they're plenty of actually in UK

Guess i better get the paintwork to you rick for a back to original ! bloody heck i suppose that means ive got a blue front mudguard as surplus and ive got to dig round for a chrome one ?.

What it does mean is you have a very rare bike

Isn't the H2a chrome guard longer than the painted H2 one (same as S2/S2a difference, unless you got a replacement painted longer one!!)? If you want it to be "original"......

I was in the company of RB, and someone mentioned front mudgaurds, can't remember what was exactly said, but I suggested that he find a h2 guard and get it chromed as they are the same, isn't that right rick?

and he said yes it is

I thought there is a difference with the H2A having the indendations where the fork dust shields are and H2 not having them
