Harv took the H2 bag of shite to be mot'd this morning. Bit of a panic at 8am, horn wouldn't work and handlebar grip came off! Bit of tape/superglue and a fiddle with the tacho cable sorted them. Neighbours not happy but

it has passed

However the paperwork is wrong they have missed the 0 out of the frame number and put it down as a KH750 - what muppets!

He's been back and they cannot alter it on their computer at the mot station, this means I have now got to ring up the DVLA and tell them they have cocked it up and try to get it amended.

Not been to this mot station with the bikes before and don't think we will be going back. Only took it there cos it was close to where we live. Harv said they were keen to take pictures of it.

Getting it registered may take a bit longer than I hoped

you can stay like this Allison, after all, as I already said my Kawasaki 90cc MC1 is, according to the title, a 9 seaters (driver included ) bike ; when I said to the muppets there're a (little ) mistake they answered we can't change like this bla bla bla so still have a very rare 9 seaters bike
To say nothing on my driving licence on which it's written I got my car driving licence on 1972 when I was 16 years old, nothing wrong excepted you must have 18 years old to get a car driving licence in my country ; never seen a cop or a rent car guy noticed this curious and impossible fact

It was booked in as a 1972 H2 and the inspector told Harv he had LC's years ago so that must be where the KH750 came from. It's the frame number that pee's me off the most. Can't read a vin sticker properly obviously. If they'd spent more time getting the facts right when putting it on the computer instead of jabbering on and taking pics then I wouldn't have this to deal with now

I know it sounds like a bit of hassle Alison , but for the sake of £20 I would take it somewhere else and get it done again. It would save you a lot of grief further down the line. As the chassis numbers will be different it won't recognise that it has already been done.
DVLA are getting really fussy these days.

A couple of years back the mot guy cocked up my number plate. 10 months later trying to re-tax it was a mare (both on line and in the post office). Ended up having to have it re moted 2 months early to sort it.

I thought it was strange that they had no previous record of my bike even though they did it the year before

He tried but all that they could alter on the computer was either the colour or the mileage.

It is possible to change any information

A very nice man at our local VOSA office has sorted it for me

Been and fetched a duplicate mot certificate with the correct details so we'll be off to Bham DVLA on Friday :smt023

Someone isn't being honest with you here.
I have just (two weeks ago) registered a Z900 and the MOT guy put the Frame number in the wrong order 54566 instead of 56455 or something like that.
I went back the next day and he changed it on the computer and printed a new mot certificate absolutely no problem at all. the correction took about two minutes if that

Alison, sounds like you just got a shit head tester. Can't believe they wanted to be friendly and take pics and then be bloody awkward. Glad you got it sorted.

Even if you issue a test with wrong information and for whatever miracle you can't change info after with a new document you have to just retest the item free of charge....

The man at the local vosa office told me on the phone to just call at the garage and collect the amended certificate. He said that he had rang them and told them to expect someone but he hadn't told them that it would be me.

Their attitude stunk when I called. No apology whatsoever. I have known the owner since he was a kid. He wanted me to show them our invoice/us title for the bike before printing me another off which I refused to do as I had already faxed them to the vosa office and it was not needed.

When he gave me the amended certificate there was a comment about 'it will be all legal soon' and a parting see you soon then Al.

We have taken our cars there for the past 5 years or more and after this fracas some other garage can have our trade in the future.
