All of the classic bike insurers will cover on frame number . It's the only way to get an import registered.
If you're already with bike sure I'd ask them again as everyone else does it.
Alternatively
Peter James
Carol Nash
Footman James

They all do it for a 30 day period to allow you to register the bike

I'm in exactly the same position with mine right now. I've got other bikes insured with Hastings Direct - I asked about insuring the S3 on the frame number and they weren't keen at first, but when I pushed them a bit they said they would issue a cover note for 14 days only, but unless I came back with a registration number within that time the policy would be closed. My main concern is that DVLA won't accept a 14-day (or even a 30-day) note if it's going to take them longer than that to issue the registration. Anybody know anything about that?

30 days cover is the norm on these so the DVLA have no problem with it.
Before the 30 days is up you either give the insurance co the new reg number or the insurance for THAT BIKE ONLY is cancelled not the whole policy Thumbs Up

DVLA will turn the first reg application around within about a working week , as long as you`ve sent correct paperwork. So if you arrange it for the day of the mot and have the rest of the application prepared, so you post it off that same day, should be all right.

I think I'm right in saying that DVLA will only issue registration/tax on a bike that is road legal - that's why you need insurance and MOT, even if you don't ride it to the MOT test. Same as when you renew your road tax on a vehicle that's already registered and in use - they won't do it if there's no electronic record of it being MOT'd and insured.
