I would seek advice on the NOVA number first as you are not going to get it registered without one. And technically it should go on a "Q" plate as the components used off the original bike don't match the percentage required to obtain an age related plate.

So, in ALL communications with ANYONE, you bought the bike in bits and completely restored all the original parts Thumbs Up
Work on getting the NOVA, then an M.O.T. and then contact that super nice guy "Rick Brett" :smt016

Checked Online And It appears that the NOVA Registration Scheme Did not come into force until 15-04-2013 .. Purchased this bike on 06-08-2012 so technically would not have required registering on Nova at that moment in time ..Will Speak to D& K to see if i can get some clear info on what i need to do !!!!!!!

I can assure you 100% that you DO need a NOVA, the DVLA system is even set up so that a registration process cannot even be started until a NOVA number has been inputted, But, D&K , from what I hear have been pretty good at supplying NOVAs - Good Luck and please keep us posted Thumbs Up

Hiya Gents Hers is my update on the "NOVA" saga !! spoke to Amanda at D&K yesterday .Very helpful and although i only purchased the frame & engine from them she has sent me a Company headed receipt for a complete Bike to match the import Doc they gave me back in 2012. Also given me the address details to get it registered onto "NOVA " ...Brilliant !!!! Also took the Bike out this Morning for it's MOT ( pissing |Down off course !! ) But along with a wet Behind i now have a MOT issued on the Frame Number ..30 Days to sort .. Bike ran a tad rough ..needs the carbs setting up but i can sort that oh and as i have not ridden a bike for 30 years the sight of me going up the road would have had all you seasoned riders in stitches !!!! any hoo ..have got back in and ordered me an audible indicator buzzer as it seems that i kept leaving my indicators on ..Not a clever thing to do when your already needing stabilizers :D fitting !!

Well done! It's looking good so far Thumbs Up , now you need a date certificate off that International Villain Rick Brett, you will have to send him your engine and frame numbers and a paypal email address to : H2Rik@aol.com.

Pleased that things are looking better for your age related plate now.

I was 20 years not riding - it comes back really quickly, but take it steady to start. I went to http://www.geton.co.uk/free-motorbike-s ... xperience/ and booked up. This was about 5 years ago now. The local bike school were helpful - I got to ride a Er500 for an hour round their off road set up - got a little bit of instruction and it cost me - nothing. It really helped my confidence getting back on the road though.
