That style would be called a "beauty Kit". The first year. Bikes into the USA were not received well by the traditionalist buyers , as they " didn't look like a Triumph.'
The problem was the futuristic styling with boxy bread in tank and the ray gun silencers . Sales of the Tridents were particularly slow. The BSA version the Rocket 3. Sold better due to a perceived performance difference ( BSA in US took o a couple to Daytona and broke some speed records )

So, to buck up sales Triumph made up some retro looking tanks , side panels and normal looking silencers to retro fit onto the 69 and 70 US bikes. I think they came in a colour called Harvest Green. Which was a green over gold colour,. your bike looks like it is that colour. I'm. Not sure that it had the black flash on the tank. The 70 Tr6 came in same colour , without the black flash. so I may be confusing the two. ( I don't really know !! )

I had a lovely 68. (?69 model year ). T150Tmin the original aquamarine blue with ray guns. It came back from Florida. rode it to France and back. Really nice. forty sounding, fairly quick. Only did about 30 odd to the gallon though. and drank oil. It didn't smoke or anything. so don't know where the,oil went. but honestly it was like filling up a two stroke tank !!!

You,have a lovely bike there !!! :smt001

OK. They suit it !! Forgot to mention the front brake. Those things are the absolutely BEST twin leaders I have ever used. Strong sand progressive stopping. Better than most single disc set ups that followed them ( And a zillion times better than the conical hub version. ) Previous to that I though all TL drums sbatched, were either on or off, and overheated quickly , like my S2 did !!!

I`d say they`re much easier than an H1.
Single cable with rod lifter , so you can set slide heights with bank of carbs off the bike.. And no chance of all the cables getting crossed up under the tank or around the coils . Hardest bit is getting the buggers on and into the rubber pipe inlet stubs. I found it was best to use new rubber hose and a third hand is helpful !!

Do you have one of the super long throttle cables that seem too long, until you check the manual ; and see it runs past the carbs and bends back round over the coils under the seat ? I think that is so the cable run is smoother and doesn`t go through a tight bend anywhere ?
