We arrived in the rain . . . . and left in the rain, it was over all too soon . . . but, with the spoils of victory in 2 trucks and trailers we are now heading home with 22 bikes aboard!

The whole weekend was brilliant but passed so quickly!!
Hotel wifi before and after mid Ohio was poor hence the lack of posting.
I've wrote  the trip up to date for the club magazine  on the 9 hour journey back and I'm saving most of the stuff for that.
It was the biggest turn out of triple members for years and our best Mid Ohio to date.
Al bought KZ 1000, S2, and Rd400
Mark bought a KD 80
Kenny came close but the deals just weren't quite closed more of which is explained in the magazine
RB bought an 800 numbered 69 h1 which is a great story ,again in the magazine.
Mark found  the 69, Kenny had next option and passed it on to RB.
I cheated and with the help of my good friend Rick Sines purchased
74 H2B,75 H2C part dismantled but all there and a mountain of spares from two separate deals.
My other good contact Dallas sold me a H2B with H2C tank and seat in June.
Dallas also sold me a set of H2C paint set  :D
Throw In my eBay purchases which went to Rick S which included a 500 factory sectioned engine and a kawasaki dealer clock amongst many spares and it was all set up before I went.
Mid Ohio seen the industrial spares Hoover switched on and plenty of parts scooped up!
I bought a KZ 900 which had 10,000 genuine miles .its a keeper which I'm giving to my son Iain.
The buy of the event for me was the H1R frame tank and seat so yes giving the large amount of H1R parts I have been collecting over the last 12 years I will be building another  :D  :D
Front frame tubes have been cut away and modified so it will be going to a frame specialist to be altered back to standard spec.
Just one little tale as walking around the stalls
Spotted a fully complete oil tank filthy dirty!
Knew it was the chain oil tank for an early Z1
It might just have been a good deal at $3  :shock:

It was great to meet all the USA forum crew and put a face to the forum name
Today after breakfast was spent emptying the trucks and trailers, putting the trailers away and clean all the Mid Ohio mud off everything

Found a few H2 pipes

And a few H2 seats

And a few h2 wheels

Boxed all the spares in totes and piled it all up ready for shipping


Took the vetter fairing off the H2B

Started storing the bikes ready for shipping

Cleaned both trucks

This what Jeff had to say on the USA forum

What an amazing trip to Mid-Ohio this year. Each year (been going since '09) it just keeps getting better and better. Last year, Kerry (her first trip) and I brought out our scooters for getting around which worked fantastic in the very large venue but this year, Jim's idea of a Triples parade of sorts convinced me to go ahead, rent a trailer and bring out a couple of bikes. So despite that the H1 wasn't done as evidenced by the zipties holding the center pipe in place and the 3 different jetting combinations attempted while we were out there, I loaded it along with Kerry's CB350 and out we went.

It really was a fantastic trip from the 50's diner that we had breakfast at in Breezewood Pa to the delicious Pig roast that Rick (N2trips) put together for us all and the very high-end entertainment provided by Joe (Battleax) and his beautiful wife Debbie. Her voice is truly angelic and Joe surprised more than a few of us with his talent too...of course Jim (Darth) accompanied them both with his collection of harmonica's(I had no idea that there are different key harmonicas. I had always thought that they were all the same).

Of course the best part was seeing our friends that we had gone to Vintage Days with before and all the guys that came out for the first time. Kerry made me promise to tell you guys that she loves all of you and really enjoyed everyone, especially Harriet, Tom(12Dot's) wife, Katie, Jimmy's( Jahimbi blammo) girlfriend of 8 years and Debbie, Joe's wife with the angels voice.

Jeff (Joker), Johnny, Tom and Joe...I was really happy to finally make "real" friends with my online friends that you already were! I met but didn't get a chance to spend much time with Holeshot and Slim & Andy (something54 I think). Mcfixit came by to introduce himself on Saturday evening and I appreciated that nice gesture! I also got very little time to talk with my friends from the UK in Mark, Rick, Malc and Kenny but they were on a mission to find and collect and we understood how important it was to you guys so Kerry and I made an effort not to slow you guys down. Lisa as always was very gracious and kept the crowd well-fed. I'm not sure if Kenny ever hit gold but Rick did with the 69 H1 Kerry and I had seen...# 828 I think. We had looked at it then next thing you know, Rick got it and we were very happy for him when with only a tiny bit of "puttering", it fired right up! Malc score a running '76 KZ900 and sounded pretty well sorted...along with a ton of other things that they collected.

Joe, unbeknownst to most members, had a hand in my latest wrist-rocket project by developing and building the heads for me and Scott was also in on the build by running calcs and both providing support and calm opinions & motivation as I ran into problem after problem that needed solving to prevent the project coming to a complete halt. To give an idea of the size & scope of just one of these problems.... I'll just say that I got a great education complete with hands on experience with carbon-fiber and vacuum infusion. Both requiring a substantial investment in time and $$.

I hope that every one that wanted to, got a chance to ride it. The bike really isn't complete but as Joe and Scott (LC) know, this was a "test-bed" project to see if the engine build specs would even work. I paid no attention to the bottom end other than making sure the crank seals didn't leak. This build design was all about some creative porting along with several other innovations. The only thing other than the jetting to get done is the head bearings and replacement wheels(if the engine HP justifies the cost). The basic engine premise was to preserve or even enhance low end power while providing very high top end HP numbers. I had struggled to get the engine fully assembled and the bike ride-able & registered in time to bring out. The bike was running extremely rich at the bottom and the top however so you had to get the revs up to get past the low end richness then it would run into it again at high revs. I managed to get it close enough that I think that anyone who rode it, would agree that the engine build was a success and that when dialed in, this is going to be one very deadly H1. I can't wait to get it dialed in!

What a Great Turn Out at Mid-Ohio this year, I think we ruled with a Tour DeForce in Overall, I did not see any group with as many Bikes in One Setting as us Triplers had.......thats was an absolute Riot

Look's like the word is getting out, Be There or Be Square......Mid-Ohio......got to meet so many new people this year, it's so nice to be able to put a face and a person to some post on the websites.........Geesh, meeting JohnnyO, Joker, Tom (what a good guy), BattleAxe (Nice H2 and H1 !), Mike Pudutton, MN-Mark, Joel, Andy, Slim, Cody (smart Dude there, and I have his engine cases in my bike........better ride it next year Cody !)........and Mark from the UK who has now been Amercanized ! (God Save Your Soul.......and thank God Health and Safety did not show up.........I guess thats a UK thing.......like the secret police)...........and the Ladys are Real Troopers

Malc and I had a long conversation Friday Night, it's like we have known each other all our life.........I think we could have solved all the worlds problem's if the right people would be listening........Kenny and Al, so good to see you guys again.........RB was not feeling so well, but he came to life when he scored the 69 H-1 for sure.........and he and Lisa are always such gracious host's

Lisa fed us well on Saturday......Steak and Potatoes, Salad, Beans........Damn it was Good !.........And Rick N2Trips and the Pig Roast Friday, good lord that was a sight to see..........And Kerrys (Jeff Kushners better half)..........eggs and bacon and coffee, oh my god that hit the spot.......I did not think we could eat all that, but we did.........they put a lot of work in to that and it's much so appreciated

Got to Ride a Bunch of different bikes, how often can you do that !.........and many rode my bike, I hope they liked it........thats why I built it, to share and brings great joy to see somebody else ride the bike (my buddys in Dayton are scared of it and won't ride it).......BattleAxe's H1 and H2 (tuned well), Jeff Kusners H1 (thats gonna be a Rocket when he gets the carbs sorted)

The Ride with JohnnyO, MN-Mark and Joker was a blast into town........and yes Johnny (and Malc), a Fat Guy can get a good wheelie !

The Brit's must be very tired, those guys were super busy and it's business during the day, party at night ........and they still had to get home with the goods

Well, I was smart and took off Monday, took the better part of a Day to get the H2 Dirt Bike cleaned up, waxed, engine polished, chain adjusted and mainly.......cleaning the UK Ram-Air Filters........not a scratch or ding anywhere........I did not heed the advice on riding friday.......that was dicey in the clay mud.........thought I was gonna drop it for a minute.........but it was all good on Saturday

I just love Marks KD80 ... but no match to my road legal KM100. It is great fun on the motorway racing lorries and the occasional coach.

A good night but the 2AM finish left us a bit fragile in the morning

Mark did a solo effort at breakfast to sort the hangovers

RB had to sort out some container paperwork (2 due to arrive in the UK)
We got the Z1 going and the Z1300 but struggled with the GPZ turbo so had to wait till RB got back
The master got it running

Never rode a Z1300 so that was for me
We eventually set off , RB was still suffering from the virus he picked up a few weeks ago so Al and him went in the 1969 Chevy pickup
Following RB"s instructions we found a beach and it was a real result as the views were spectacular

Technical problems involving red wine meant the picture has not loaded to the iPad so we have had to retake the picture from the phone with the iPad hence the poor quality.
I knew it would be important for you all to see the island in the background hence the real importance of showing you this picture:salut:

Thanks Malc for reposting for me...it WAS a fantastic trip, even better than last year when I bought out the scooters for Kerry and I to get around on. You even managed to get my truck in the pic of your loaded truck at Mid-Ohio before we left...it's a dark green Expedition with the gold trim.....now I'm famous on 2 continents<LOL...like that would matter to me>!

Thanks again to all you guys for being such gracious hosts and letting us Yanks "invade" your campsite each evening. I spoke to Phil on the phone earlier this evening and he agrees with me, that the only problem with the event is that it's too short....another day would be better!

As for my H1, I ordered the different needles I believe I need to get it jetted properly...and once it's done, I'm going to port another set of cylinders to duplicate it. I already have the rest of the parts for the build and happen to have another H1F in the garage but instead of using the PWK 35's, I'll probably use a set of 34 flats I have...and no Higgs, not the knockoffs....they are already boxed up to be put on ebay for a sing...worthless pieces of cr*p!


I almost forgot...Bic, PM me your address....I've got something for you that I forgot to give Malc....no worries mate, I'll post them to you!
