Tell us some more Bill?
Not much to say on the purchase Malc. Came up on ebay (and a few thousand cheaper than the one that's currently on there) from a bloke in Derby.

First ride on the "restored" bike was somewhat interesting - aka scary... Very, VERY vague handling and no brakes - worse than any triple I ever rode. So after the first ride I had a full page of fixes - but a few were quite important...

Front tyre was deflating - fixed with a new valve core. Front brake didn't work - fixed by moving the levers to the correct angle. Chain adjustment out by one notch left versus right - easy fix. Second ride out was more like it!

One outstanding problem is that the middle cylinder won't pick up cleanly from tickover - just like the problem I had with my KH400. In this case though ultrasound cleaning and poking/blowing jets didn't fix it - oddly it gets better when the engine is warm. Further investigation required, although reassembling two carbs seems to have stopped the fuel weeping - one to go!

Overall I'm really happy with it - it's in great condition. But I'm looking forward to Betty's visit so he can point out potential "improvements" - I always thought a conversation about the originality of an H1C would be entertaining :-) I did see his NOS one and the one that Z1Andy restored next to it but foolishly didn't take any pictures at the time...

Try to get some at the weekend if it's sunny when I'm not at Stafford Malc.

In the meantime, spot the next problem on my list - there are two actually...

Yep, that's one of two...

Felt like JR Hartley wandering round Stafford trying to find someone who could sort it out.

My mate Billy T bought this on the way to Stafford from some dodgy looking bloke near Manchester, Anderson to name I think. The good thing was it came with 5 year parts and labour warranty :D
