new H1 boy

Post by Toddyboy »

Hi there.
Just signed up. I have two early H1's I'm restoring. A white '69 & a red '70.
Nice to be part of this gang.

Welcome to the club mate. You've got a major task on your hands, 2 restoration at the same time. Good luck.

No kiddin'
It's a bit of a trek but I'm getting there. Sourcing some of the parts needed was a b*****d of a job but I've got most of 'em now. Almost there on the red one. The whitey is all in bits still.
Anyone out there got an ideas on the following parts availability in the UK (Not Ebay):-
1. HT lead protector and outer sheath
2. Ignition switch housing
3. Star type cable adjusters
4. Headlight bracket bottom chrome & rubber washers
5. Oil tank cap
6. Handlebars
7. Kickstart lever
8. Banjo's (primary feed on oil tank/oil pump)
9. Small chrome grab rail (for lifting centre stand)
10. L/H side panel knob
11. Side Reflectors
12. Chrome rear indicator stays
13. Steering damper star spring

Good to get so much response so quickly.
I have a sister in law who lives in Portsmouth and the road to there from East Grinstead where I live is an awesome ride. At least one of the H1's will be roadworthy by March so yes we'll meet up at some point in the not too distant future methinks.

Toddy boy

I see you are up the road in East Grinsted

I've recently joined up having just put an H1A back on the road. I'm in Heathfield so maybe meet up some time in the Spring?
