Already have for London - in 2020 the ULEZ comes into force - Ultra Low Emission Zone. So motorcycles manufactured before July 2007 will pay £12.50 per day to enter the zone - with the exception of vehicles with a "historic" tax class.

Well , my three are all Historic , not that I ride in London much these days, and this Zone is only going to be a very small area of central London .Nick64 wrote:Already have for London - in 2020 the ULEZ comes into force - Ultra Low Emission Zone. The main problem to date has been that people with older diesel vehicles who live in the low emission zone which is much larger area than this new zone have been forced to get rid of their vehicles, or pay a very heavy daily levy

Time to grow a beard and join The Motorcycle Action Group I think - they do a lot for us you know....the aquaduct, sanitation, wine,...
Take a look at the other people next time you go to an autojumble etc. (especially Kempton Park
) - motorcyclists are getting older and not being replaced to any extent by a younger generation (too much hassle to take the tests etc.) - we are being 'phased out' chaps - a long term Government strategy that they are using on various things - people don't tend to notice when it is a 'drip, drip' long term strategy

As the government is unable to reduce unemployement, to give us security and justice, he found new gimmicks for us: road security with stupid speed limits, pollution and have made restrictiv laws about those just for control us.
If the government, from whatsoever country, has spent the same energy and money against the muslim terrorists that he has spent on speed limits violation or so call pollute violations, live would have been better for us.

I don't think the government are trying to phase us out, it is just that youngers are not able to text whilst riding a motorcycle.
They can drive and do it at work all day long. But the motorcycle is just to restrictive for them.

I honestly saw someone riding a scooter and texting (or possibly just reading one - I am not sure) only last week. Some kind of fast food delivery man

I think it is inevitable that 2strokes will be legislated off the road it is a done technology and lets face it are not environment friendly.we may have no choice because of the ever increasing ethanol content of fuel E10 already in the pipeline eating the crank seals.will probably be only allowed to run them at organised events using uber expensive fuel (aspen) 18 quid a gallon.having said all that we will be too old and fu**ed to start em

they don't banned two stroke but any vehicules registred before a date.Chris Todd wrote:I think it is inevitable that 2strokes will be legislated off the road it is a done technology and lets face it are not environment friendly.we may have no choice because of the ever increasing ethanol content of fuel E10 already in the pipeline eating the crank seals.will probably be only allowed to run them at organised events using uber expensive fuel (aspen) 18 quid a gallon.having said all that we will be too old and fu**ed to start em
And I think we will ride w/o issue until the end as we would get crank seal which support fuel with ethanol.
