h2a,fitted three new coils,Ivans needle kits,lakeland iggy boxes,r/h caliper,refurbed oil pump,another set of rear tail reflectors (vibration)sent tacho for rebuild,new seat to go on then stainless expansions to fit,should be good to go for summer

Went in the garage last night to turn the Dehumidifier off before it freezes.. "I'll just undo the exhaust pipes" on the White KH250, I thought... yeah right, before I knew it the cyls and pistons were all on the bench.

It had a seizure late last year, it's been rebuilt by it's owner and he then found the engine was tight after the rebuild, the Cruzin Image pistons are the hardest to fit into the bores I have ever met and only get up to 90PSI.. Anyone else found this?
Those were instant suspects but having removed all three cyls the crank is still tough to turn over so it's not those.

I consulted the owner earlier to confirm it was rebuilt from the ground up, It was, so the suspicion now falls on the steel pin in the crankcase that may not be located in the bearing shell hole, so crushing the shell onto the Drive Shaft, I hope it's as simple as that anyway although it's a ballache to strip the engine for such a simple fix.

So tonight I went in again and took the drain plug out.. it took all of two minutes. too cold to stay..

Not much work about for me this week so I finally got round to putting the new crank in my FS1E-A
Will be careful where I take it though as it's not 'matching numbers' and I don't want all the Yam boys boo-ing and hissing and throwing rotten tomatoes at me

I'll see when/if I get time to open it this weekend, it went to a local cranker, so I think it'll probably just have regular seals.

Hi everyone been awol for a while i had couple of illnesses i won't bore you with that kept kept me low all last year but feeling better and back to work now.......back to the subject i had a look in the spare bedroom (bungalow and divorced ) and had a quick shufti at the longest restoration in history so i need to pull my finger out.....it's sort of there.

Hey Eric, that was close, yes it is the seals that are very tight but they are the usual rubber coated type with the castellations for the oilways, the Clutch side is one of those insidey outey ones but it still has castellations on the inside

Even with crank in me hand, the seals are quite hard to turn, anyone else had this?

Of course this means I had to strip the thing for nothing... even worse when I put the sump plug back in, it wouldn't tighten, unfortunately it already has a Helicoil.

Jumped on the Triumph Explorer for a Sunday morning blast with a couple of mates on their adventure bikes. Handled like crap, not surprising with 5 psi and a nail in the front tyre!!!

Went home, grabbed the H1A, did the 70 miles round trip to Rye on that. Sun shining, roads dry, and guess which bike people came over to look at in the car park

That's over 100 miles on it this weekend, none of the other bikes seem to move out of the garage anymore..........

Getting back into triple's definitely best biking thing I've done for years.

After a while in storage at another property I finally got my finger out and completed some necessary work to tart her up and get her running again . Took her out this morning to Jack Lilley in Ashford for an MOT and for this photo while I was out .

Got home from work early and fitted my re painted speedo and tacho to the H1A with all new bracket and instrument rubbers, washers and nuts. Very satisfying, the old ones were about the toastiest I've ever seen!

The full set of rubbers (both types) including washers and nuts came from Diablo in the USA. £23 including postage and they arrived in three days by letter post - not bad I thought. Couldn't find them in the UK.

Another little job done - have to rest ride them at the weekend
