So I have this recurring problem with the carb on my H2c. After a long ride when I park the bike up fuel drips out the bottom of the bike. It happens frequently but not every time - mostly at bike meets where there is loads of people to come up to me when I'm taking off my helmet to say my bike's during fuel everywhere.
It's the left hand carb and I guess it must be a sticking float. but I have had all the carbs apart, the needles and seats are all either new or good condition, the floats are OK and set to the correct height. I even fitted a shorter S3 sidestand because I thought it may have been the extreme lean of the bike that caused the float to stick open.
Turning the petrol tap to any of the three positions doesn't stop the problem but it usually stops on its own. Today it wouldn't so I had to pull off the hose from the tap to the carb.
Any ideas?

You need a longer side stand not shorter

Leave it parked on the centre stand.
And stop putting tsp on prime position, that doesn't help at all !!

Re: Leaking fuel out of carb
Are you sure there is no pin hole in the float.
submerge it in simmering hot water;
if you see a stream of bubbles then its holed.
don't ask how I know

Oh yes, I mean I fitted the longer S3 side stand
I had to take the centre stand off because I have Higgspeed pipes on.
I will have a second look at that float bowl.
Thanks for the replies.

Re: Leaking fuel out of carb
It was perforated floats on my H1A - you can normally hear the fuel inside when you give them a shake.
funny thing was the first time I looked at the carbs I thought that the floats were fine, within weeks two of them had failed so I replaced them all

Re: Leaking fuel out of carb
A common problem in triple carbs is there's a brass tube in the bottom of the float bowl, sometimes these crack and cause the carb to leak
Not sure if the H2C has a brass tube?
if it hasn't please please ignore my comment

I agree with scouse its happened to 2 of my 3 carbs (h2a). Fill the float bowl to below the level of the tube top and see if it leaks !!!
