Cush drive question

How much movement is acceptable/normal to see on the rear cush-drive on an H2c? On mine with the bike up on a stand so you can spin the rear wheel and have a good look at the chain and sprockets there seems to be quite a lot of play, maybe a couple of degrees. I can't remember from years ago what my other triples were like. It rides fine with no noticeable slop.

Any one know whether this is OK or should I be looking to replace the rubbers soon?

I have taken the play out of my cush drive with thin plastic packing on the drive side between the rubber and hub !

If it rides OK, I'd leave them, a couple of degrees doesn't sound that much play anyway. The main reason people change them is coz they break the nipple off removing them as they get harder with age, rather than actually wear out - the dragsters out there may disagree though

If you can fit a piece of inner tube in, your play on the Cush drives is far more than 3 degrees !!!!

I would change them if you can pad them out that much . you'd be stuffing old inner tubes with straw next !!!!

BTW suitable cush drives are available from your friendly local Kawasaki dealer :wink:
