H1e silencer bolts

Post by thelodgers »

I went for a run today to Devil's Bridge on my H1e. When I got home I noticed that the LH silencer was loose because it had shed both the bolts that attach the mounting bracket to the silencer. I guess I was lucky as I had been hacking down the M6 and the exhaust was just held by the cylinder studs.

( note to self - must check all the fasteners before the Blackpool rally )

Anyway I do have a couple of spare bolts but they are not in great shape so I would like to get a couple of new ones or better ones if I can. The thread is very coarse so my normal stock of bolts don't work. Does anyone know the spec for the bolt or where I can get some new ones ?

Many thanks

I can answer my own question. The parts book says this is part number 115B0814 and it is a 8x14 bolt. I am no engineer but I've measured an old bolt and it seems to be 8 mm diameter and 14mm long ( excluding the head ). But metric bolts are called M8, M10 etc so what's the name of the bolt I am looking for ?

Thanks
