Oil in alternator casing

I took the left hand casing of my H1B to set the points and some oil which had collected at the bottom of the case under the alternator spilled out about a dessertspoon amount, it looks to me like this should be a dry casing the only seal I see is the crankshaft oil seal behind the rotor but there should be no oil behind this is it possible that 2 stroke oil could get by this seal as the feed for the left hand cylinder is just above it.

I think the oil seal must be leaking I see from another post that someone had almost an identical problem and had the same dessertspoon of black 2 stroke I believe Gary Clark is the man for the oil seal I am about to fit a powerdynamo kit so I will do the seal then.

I`ve got a spare l/h crank seal ( new !! ) you can have.

beware some aftermarket kits have the wrong oil seal in them[niel] the ones we get from our suppliers are wrong
it should be 25 52 10 , the ones in some packs are26 52 10
