Modern batteries are mere shadows of their ancestors I'm afraid, expect to change them every few years.. even if well looked after.

Over here, the White KH has re appeared, the centre cylinder is terminal, Big gouges up the side of the piston and bore as a metal 'something' has made it's way from the bottom up to the top before embeddding itself in the plug.

To take my mind off the KH carnage, I creosoted (oiled) the back and sides of the Stables and then put a Radio Antenna on the chimney, my first at this house, the neighbours will be wondering... I'm well knackered now and everything aches, especially my brain.

Wolfie a radio ham, I didn't know they still existed. Went to a blokes house for work once, it had a domed roof; he was a radio ham. Inside this roof was like a bloody tardis, equipment everywhere. He was a real enthusiast who worked for The Ministry of something. Lived alone and spent most of his spare time "on air". Bloody facinating bloke, a right techy old geezer, but he could explain how it all worked and had built the lot himself. Worked with the military and police on their stuff. Made a nice cup of tea as well if I recall correctly, but sadly no biscuits. Over and out.

Haven't done a single bikey thing all weekend.. (other than wheel the KH onto the bench and shut the door behind it)

So it was a Radio/TV day, I tried to exchange some TV between here and a friend near Barnsley/Sheffield..

Ham Radio/TV is just like old motorbikes, there are very few young people coming in at the bottom, it is a dying art.
Some modern radios are Internet enabled and so they can communicate to someone elses radio on the other side of the world then transmit and receive using that one.
Many hams do it because we still enjoy the fiddling and making stuff work, others just fork out a huge sum for a big posh all singing all dancing piece of kit and plug it in. If I want to talk to Australia I have a phone.

Going out on the bike today for a ride to a microwave Radio meeting.. It was a hard push to the front of the garage and squealed too.. Damn, another bleedin flat tyre!
At least I had got home this time. Had to go and play Radio in the car instead, just as well cos it absolutely pist it down halfway there.

Back at home I figured that instead of going up on the roof again, my time would be better employed removing a back wheel to take to the bike shop tomorrow.Oh and there's oil all up the bleeding exhausts again, I seem to be having persistent problems with that Clutch cover gasket seal these days. I might try a Kellogs gasket next time.

Well, I took delivery of my H2 twin disc kit from Z-Power ... minus the calipers (they're Z1 style - wasn't thinking though, I could have used them on my S2-A and S3 ).

Then I put a word out to the VJMC members down here (DownUnder) to find a caliper to do a r/h conversion on.

Searching through his parts stash, one member pulled out a caliper and offered it to me for pocket money. Then we had a close look at it and it was a genuine r/h caliper and bracket !

Of course, the price went up a bit then, but I still came out of it at a very good price (thanks Ken). I'll put a kit through it and, with a lick of paint, it'll be magic.

Sam, I'm not sure if that was a statement of despair, or a word of advice.

Either way, what I was suggesting was that, if I'd taken the full twin disc kit from Z-Power, I could have put the Z1 style calipers aside to use on my S2-A or S3 some time down the track.

it turns out it was not only the centre( they all seize on the centre mate) but the left as well, so its been a busy week getting it fixed for Ireland.

Kerry, that engine is begging for bigger main jets. Or, a possible air leak. These bloody things leak like mad. Until you have pressure tested some you don't realise how bad they can be. I'm sure it will be ready fo next week

550 kilomters to go in Brittany with my H2B running 4500-5500 RPM 5th gear 16X47 highways and 2 X2 lanes ways 8 liters to 9.5 liters per 100 kilometers

Pushed my 69 H1 nearly 2 miles as it lost it's spark
Figured out that the 45 minute push home would be quicker than waiting for recovery
The problem? The bloody big hill just before our house, oh hang on a snapped yellow wire from behind the oil tank (from the pick up on the Genny) took me 2 hrs to find
