No old Kawasakis in the Netherlands ?

I'm on holiday in the Netherlands and on Sunday we went to Oldtimerdag ( "oldtimer day" ) in a place called Ruinerwold. This is a small village completely taken over by cars, bikes and tractors ( about 1500 ) which parade during the day. It was excellent and free ( other than 5 euro to park - fair enough). There are some videos on youtube if you are interested.

Lots of nice bikes - loads of smaller two strokes like Zundapps and Kriedlers. The Dutch don't seem to overrestore their bikes like we do and most just looked original .

Now the point of this post. Not only were there no Kawasaki triples but there were no Kawasakis whatsoever at the show ( out of hundreds of bikes ) The only Kawasaki we did see was a 1990's 750 parked in the visitors carpark. Did they not import Kawasakis into Holland until the 90's or whatever ? Very strange .

I have an S2 from the Netherlands here awaiting restoration. S2F-00093. Got to be close to first one into Europe ?

Henk Vink was Der Man. Twin engined z1 dragbike. Didn`t he import Kawa`s for a while ??

Kawasaki set their European hub up in Holland as well when they took control from local import agents in the 70's.

S2-00003 arrived there :wink: . . . But Yes, Holland had more Kawasaki's than we did!!!

saw a finland numbers plate S2 in Margate on early july 1972 but haven't noticed the frame or engine nulbers at this time
