Henry Cole on TV
For all my motorcycling friends.
A Question...........
What do you think of Henry Cole, the guy on television who seems to have gained the coveted spot of representing the biking world to the British Public?
He's kind of got in there with few different series about bikes but every time I watch one of his programmes he just makes me feel like he's a total dick. "Shed and Buried" and "Greatest motorcycle rides" both leave me with a great distaste for this man who reduces my passion for bikes into a nasty, short-cut version of bike life, dumbed down for the masses and insipid in its execution. I always tune in because of my passion for biking but ultimately turn off because of this man's vacuous delivery and account of what I love.
He means well. I know this.
But his mannerisms, way of talking and generally coming across like a complete twat mean that I can't enthuse about his programmes.
And yet...... am I not his target market?
He makes Charlie Boorman look like a total God and that takes some doing.

Bic, whoever the fek you are pal, please stop reading my mind.
that could be a good, serious programme about classic bikes but acting like he knows fuck all makes all bikers look like knob heads. Surely to god they could find someone better to represent our classic community. I vote for Rick. What say thee folks?
if you wish to quote me, that's fine. But please use the quote button provided, not a variation of my words.

The man is just trying to make a buck, he only fools the great unwashed.
If he is able to sell ideas and programs to tv companies and have a good time without getting shot at ,i'm sure his family think he is doing the right thing.
He does no fool me ,nor some of you, yes he is a Twat !

And, he could easily be a cousin of the other twat, Mike brewer from wheeler dealer. That has the making of a good informative programme but he ruins it with his stupid sayings and remarks. Like every time he walks into the workshop he accuses the other guy of doing nothing to the car. Another knob head.

Re: Henry Cole on TV
Yes I agree.
Especially about Mike Brewer...Knob.
I was totally astounded that Henry and Peter restored that Phil Read Rep with such a manky homemade bloody number plate
They do have SOME good features but it is let down by the presentation, but who else is doing it??

Re: Henry Cole on TV
Mate of mine knows Brewer, he says he is a really genuine and nice bloke. The problem with all of these programs is they are produced and edited by TV peiople who just focus on the dramatic and glib, making TV for the masses rather than more technically oriented stuff. The only guy who seems to get the mix right imho is James May, I think because he is a big enough star to argue for the technical stuff.

Re: Henry Cole on TV
regarding cole, i think he is a bit of a lightweight, but at least he is getting something made on Motorcycles. I didnt have much regard for him until you read a bit about his background, journalist in serbia in the war there, nearly killed himself with a nasty drug habit. There is a little more to him than first appears.
There doesnt seem to be a lot of harm to the bloke and his missus is bloody fit!

I personally like his programmes, he deals with a diversity of all things two wheels and his lightweight delivery style makes it very watchable, at least there is something on the TV that is a positive for bikes
