It may come to that !!
I have found LED lamps of correct colour and size. But seems a bit of a waste to buy them ,just to cut the tops off them !! I suspect using them complete , they may be too bright, the additional wiring is a hassle, and of course, it`s not original enough !!!

Thanks Sam ,
Hang on to them !! I`m going to need a few of each, so decided to start looking for a regualr supply solution.

Gotz, thanks for that. I`ve been in to Maplins before looking for something That`s in the right direction, There are LED lights for 99p on E Bay that I could destroy for the lens.

I`ll keep looking. !! Anyone else got any ideas ??

On an LED is it not the light source that produces the color ,not the lens

Google colour photographic gel sheet. You can get all colours and lots of different thicknesses. Get some thin clear Perspex. Use a round punch the correct size for the lens. Super glue gel over the top. Never tried it. Just a thought. Tons of gel sheet on eBay. Most good photo shops stock it.
if you wish to quote me, that's fine. But please use the quote button provided, not a variation of my words.

Ive got a bazillion of those back in Nottingham . . .. well, O.K. not a bazillion but at least a MILLION!
.
I should be back in 3 weeks time . . . . If I can get a temporary Green card . . . . As an aside, I am now nearly £2,000 into replacing my lost Green card, I had all my fingerprints and retina tests done again 3 weeks ago - I called to see how far along were were with the replacement? To be told . . . we are working on last Januarys applications at the moment . . . .
Keep One wheel down . . . . .

Barrie ,
I've ordered led idiot lights that have coloured plastic caps .

I' m no expert on LED stuff, but. There seems to be "clear" and coloured LED's. , and even cheaper ( perhaps) tigons where clear LEDs are stuffed into coloured plastic cases.
