Club Unrest

Post by Eric »

Would somebody please explain to me what the hell is going on as there has been a lot of snipping, bickering ,general unrest ( to put it mildly) and distrust going on within the club over the past year or so. Is there one person to blame or a collective number of people?

Yeah I know what it is Eric. It's called OMSHD and it happens every year about this time. Some years it's barely noticeable but every few years you get a humdinger. Something to do with the moon lining up with Uranus. Old Motorcyclist's Seasonal Hormonal Disorder is a medically acknowledged condition that affect bikers 'of a certain age'. It occurs as the nights draw in and the subconscious realisation that fine riding days are gone until the following spring. When combined with the male menopause, general grumpiness and the realisation that the care free days of their youth are gone forever the sufferer is prone to irrational fits of irritability, anger and sense of humour failure. There is no known cure but there are several treatments that can alleviate the symptoms. Fitting a set of new expansion chambers will for example will make the patient a little less sensitive. Performing a burnout will give almost a day's respite. Pulling a 100 yard wheelie will give several day's relief and doing a burnout that culminates in a 100 yard wheelie will render the sufferer almost normal. I understand this is the therapy that Ray (a chronic OMSHD victim) uses, but sadly he became addicted as is often the danger with avant garde therapies. Tragically the only reason he's never grumpy is because he has Dunlop and Avon on speed dial. Dunlop do his Tyres, Avon do his lipstick. B'dum tisssh!

The club has about 500 members currently

The work carried out on behalf of the club is conducted by less than 10 people

That means that there are 490 people who do what ??

The Northern Rally seems to have taken a dive this year, 34 bikes on the rideout I believe

Rick now lives in America and comes back when he can

I was going to run Stafford this year but due to personal and health reasons I had to drop out, Thank goodness Malc Anderson was there.

I don't really know where the club is currently heading, lets see if the membership gets hit for next year.

A lot of people won't say anything, they just won't re new their memberships

So will they be missed then Malc ??

This is definitely a time of change . Overall within this Club. Just a point of note here ; This club , as the Kawasaki Triples Club was revived, out of the ashes of them" Classic Kawasaki Club " by a bunch of old school original members. Who remembered the original Triples Club. ( which began as the H2 Owners Club formed by Rick ). but in it's new re- incarnation. There is strong praise due to those members who have run it. Rick , I'm sure will agree with this. He's been the Figurehead , but not active in the running of it.
As far as the Northern . It had become more of a show and Concours event than a rally . And when the show bike builders couldn't get their bikes judged by Rick , they stopped turning up. This. Is the. Cusp !!!

Change. The only constant. ( aha, say that to the Star Trek. Backing tune !! )

A lot of people won't say anything, they just won't re new their memberships

It wasn't only revived 'by a bunch of Old School original members'

I was there printing the first newsletter of the re vamped club along with Roger Ramm etc.

I was a member of the CKC but not the original club

Something is definitely happening in the club at the moment, I just hope it works out OK :smt102 :smt102

H2AL here.....
Who's he then i hear a lot of you say......well H2AL is one of the original members....that means he's been in the club since its birth....never been without a H2 since the mid 70's....I've missed one, possibly two Northern Rallies and been to ALL of the NW Rallies....
But the thing is most of you don't know me or who i am.....because most of ''my era'' club members are long gone or can't be bothered anymore... and most of the newcomers are in their own circle or up someones backside (or both)...
Over the years there's been MANY a controversy in the club...but its managed to still be here..... And i'm still here in spite of feelin a little bit ''on the outside'' in recent years....
The reason i'm still here...? Simple...
I LOVE KAWASAKI TRIPLES !!
As we all do......so stop all this sulkin n moanin and just get on with your passion.......
H2AL...........
