Well as I currently have no spare time and even less money its time for me and the green meanie to part company if there is anyone out there wanting to take it on.
It has covered approx 3 - 400 miles since being built and still needs setting up - I was trying to get a few gentle miles before it went to see Mick Abbey and his torture chamber and I knew it was running weak and last time out I nipped the bugger up, it did restart and ran quite well after letting it cool off but really needs the top end looking at properly to see if there is any serious damage.
I have at least 3 grand in this and obviously would like to recover as much as I can but would also be interested in a PX on a road legal crosser/enduro
There is a build thread on here documenting the build should you wish to have a look
I was worried that the mono rear/later forks would produce a dog of a bad handling house brick however I am delighted that it seems to steer and stop really well, not that I have had much opportunity to push it so far
As best I can remember the stuff renewed replaced reworked -
Engine stuff
Recon crank, new rods bearings little ends and crank seals
Cases heads & Cylinders vapour blasted
Cylinders ported mild road tune and heads reworked by Mr Abbey
New pistons rings small ends (1st oversize)
Carbs sonic cleaned and all with refurb kit fitted (new float valves choke plungers gaskets etc)
2 new gearbox bearings and all oil seals
New engine gaskets
Rewound alternator
Running Boyer branson electronic sparks
new rectifier
Bike bits
Frame modified to run Honda CBR400 NC23 rear mono shock and rear wheel
NC23 front end fitted
New tyres
new wheel bearings both ends - both wheels blasted and powder coated
New taper roller headstock bearings
New chain and sprockets
New front stainless brake pistons and seals
Braided brake lines each end
New battery
New headlight and brackets
Tank blasted & de leaked with a quality liner kit
Frame blasted and powder coated
Stainless Kenny pipes which do sound bloody nice - not had chance to dyno yet as discussed above
150 worth of rechroming to kickstart grab rail etc
Probably hundreds of other things that I can't remember
Crap bits
The paint is S**T and needs redone (some may argue that the decals are less than appropriate too)
Front forks despite having fresh seals have started to leak - should have changed the bushes too I guess
Speedo drive has crapped out (Aprilia shite)
Back indicators snapped off (cheapy chinese stuff shoulda known better) also the wiring isn't the tidiest ever and was on my list but it all works and will do for the present
and of course I might have nipped up one of the cylinders last time out - have not had time or inclination to look
It is still tested until next April/May (can't remember exactly) and is taxed too - not that that counts for much nowadays but it will be a free road tax bike in a few yrs time
Anyway if anyone wants any more info pics etc PM me would like to see at least 2500 back but let me know what its worth
