Looking to buy a H2A in purple

Post by SimonCarly »

Hello everyone, I am a newbie just joined yesterday.

I love triples (including Triumphs) but have for many years wanted a H2, preferably the A model. The recent article in Practical Sportsbikes motivated me to get on with this 'bucket list' purchase. I don't have the time or the skill to restore so I am looking to buy a really clean/tidy bike, partly as an investment but mainly to ride.
Have been trawling through the posts since yesterday and have already learned quite a lot - thank you.
If anyone can help me or point me in the right direction towards a seller, I would be most grateful. I have made contact with Rick Brett.
Hope to talk to you soon and thanks in advance for any help or guidance you can offer. Simon.

Thanks. Only recently started looking seriously, the ones I have come across that don't need immediate attention and are really clean/tidy seems to be 10-12k ++
Should have bought one years ago!

This place has quite a high turnover of triples. Often when you see H2s for sale on the net that are from this place.

There may be some comments from other forum members about this place, I don't know how it it generally regarded. I've been there a few times when I lived in London - always a large selection of interesting and rare bikes. But they are always at the top-end asking price for any model. I guess it's because he has all the London market at his doorstep and there are many people out there who will just pay the asking price to get what they want. The owner is a big fan of H2A purple models - he tried to get me to buy one from him at the time I was looking!. He was really into the colour and the way it looks in the sun, very enthusiastic! He's not wrong, it is an amazing colour.

Excellent, I'll let you know if I manage to find a bike - perhaps we can meet up and go for a run. Cheers.

Wow. That looks a nice example!

When I was looking to buy into the 750 triple genre I would have been very interested in that one. Twin disc and all.

How much do you think it is worth then?

I like it even more with those pipes on it! That's what I would have done also.
