How many UK points model early H1's are there still in exist
I've got one - a red 1970 model.
Steve Woollatt's got one.
I also saw an old post where Scouse had one back in 2009 I think.
Does anyone else know of the existence of any other surviving UK points model H1's other than those mentioned above?
I seem to recall someone saying that only 53 were imported into the UK so was just wondering what happened to them?
The thing that distinguishes the UK models is the frame numbers which begin with 23 and the engine numbers which begin with 51. Why that is, is anyone's guess.

Mine is a 1970 H1 though. I imagine your H1A is exactly the same engine wise.gary62 wrote:I've got a UK H1A with points

I think the H1A was the most popular H1 in the UK (except for the KH500) - 300+ sold.

There may have been 300 + H1a's sold in the UK but my question is: Does anyone know how many red scalloped tank H1's with points ignition were imported and sold in the UK in 1970?

Very nice indeed. I notice your one has got a longer rear mudguard than the US model.
Is the front mudguard also supposed to be longer because if so I've fitted the wrong set of mudguards to my bike (I'm also restoring an almost identical US 1970 red H1)
I've also got the high rise bars on mine as you can see, which I prefer actually. Don't like the low ones. Is this bike supposed to have low bars as standard being as it's a UK spec?

Just spoke to Ben Coles. He's got a UK spec H1 with candy red scalloped tank. So that's FOUR that I now know of.
Mine's almost finished now (see below). It was a sorry state when I got it but it's amazing what a bit of spit and polish can do.

I am totally unsure! I suspect that 40 were brought in, and the data suggests that from other models that 70% have survived. So there should be around 28 (?) Left ?

As you suspected your rear mudgaurd is wrong, UK spec bikes have a long rear guard and the rare Stanley RR 50 rear reflector
The bikes start with a 51 number as Kawasaki recalled the bikes as the CDI ignition interfered with TVs, and fitted a points system
There's a UK magazine article reviewing a early H1 and it mentions the electronic ignition decal on a points model, but can't remember if it was a 69 or a 70 H1
