Post by Eric »

At the moment this site is working dead slow and has been doing this on and off for a number of weeks, is anybody else having the same problem? I`m having no problems to talk about with other sites.

Renewal went through all OK in Feb (far as I know), the payment went out anyway.

Yes it is giving problems, it seems to be just a Forum thing though, the main website seems OK.

I have no idea.. and no access to domain level I'm afraid, I'll email the top man then expect a reply in a month or two.

I looks like Windows, browsers and/or Antivirus softwares are trying to push everyone onto HTTPS for added security, so it is probably one of those on your PC that is complaining, AVG now nags me on the main PC but Avast doesn't on the my other machines, however I only let them update when I say so.

This site is HTTP, and I believe there are costs involved in upgrading, Simons site provider was coming up against this and along with that and other things too decided to give up.

HTTPS is better than plain HTTP, but it only encrypts the data between the web site/forum and the client device that the browser is using. It's only the data traffic that is encrypted, which is good, but it only makes the web site/forum marginally more secure if access is only allowed via HTTPS. Allowing both protocols to be active doesn't make the server side any more secure at all.
