I had a couple of small repairs to a couple of the bikes....ironically, the two most modern bikes were the ones with the issues! First I had a front cylinder that kept dropping out at idle on the Vstrom1000. I replaced the front coil/wire/cap and that was solved. Then the turbo got a new fuel pump replacing the chinese pump I had installed last summer but had zero confidence in...so it got a R6 pump and a new battery.

This one? I gave it two kicks with choke on-key off.....then turned on the key and it jumped to life....after sitting for 5 months!
God I LOVE two strokes!!

Finally got my bum into gear and took my very shabby crankcases and crankshaft to the excellent Gary Clarke (top man with good advice to ),got these bits back to be reunited very soon,metal porn on the lawn

Thanks....my girlfriend Kerry noticed that my plate had expired on that bike. I spend an hour online last night first making sure it WAS registered(yes, until 5/18), then ordering a replacement sticker for the tag and a duplicate registration card to put under the seat. I must have got them last year but forgot to mount the sticker....I spent 2 hours looking for them Sunday night then gave up and ordered them. I've got a bunch of them titled, tagged and insured and am usually very good about keeping them all up to date.

Good thing I pulled them out and that she was there because I never would have noticed!

A good day. Got the V5 for my S2 from the DVLA just 8 days after posting the V55 etc.

Picked up lots of rechromed bits for the 2 H1As I bought from Rick just before Christmas and dropped of all the stuff to be zinc plated

MOT Day today, Scouse Gary was already there with his H1A.. Chance for a natter as we haven't seeneach other for ages (we are only 7 miles apart )

Anyway the S1c passed without even an advisory (as usual), went home to get the H2 for her turn.. couldn't find the bleedin keys!! And I've never had a spare

They turned up later in one of the cars door pockets when I was looking for something else.

Note to self.... Ask Malc for a spare key..

A great day At Odiham today and for the first four sessions Orville ran superbly,handling and accelerating really well. but then it locked the centre pot , and its still locked now .

so then it was out with the back up bike for the remainder of the day.


then the rain came, so for the remaining riders we had an open pit lane what a blast with only a handfull of riders out on circuit

After my adventure taking Soupy, the be-dencoed H2 for an Mot, I realised my clutch arm/hand/wrist combo was suffering from a combination of Super Popeye arm pump and general old age, too many flying W's over the 'bars on an enduro bike has significantly reduced my capacity for repeated heavy clutch wrangling, bottom.
My saviour came in two plastic clam shell packages of awesomeness from Ralf Gille. So, armed with my usual mix of over exuberance, a comprehensive spanner collection and a iPod full of relaxing music, well Motorhead etc I entered the hallowed ground of the Man Cave, a place of cool beers, work benches, special tools and mysteriously disappearing valve caps
I had previously fitted socket head screws to Soupy, as part of my "spotty yoof" dream bike creation so the sprocket cover was off in a flash, the Clutch cover quickly followed - after draining the oil, which I remembered to do after it fell out from the bottom of the clutch cover :roll:I fitted the actuator behind the sprocket and set the lever at the right angle, super easy. Back on the clutch side I removed the five sprung loaded bolts and replaced the springs with a set of heavy duty versions - just so I wouldn't suffer from clutch slip from all of the power The pressure plate was removed and i pulled out the mushroom pusher to be usurped with one of Ralfs bearing and hardened steel creations, lovely piece of kit. Refitting the bolts and springs was a piece of cake, the same couldn't be said for the old gasket, it had formed a sort of material that was a cross between bakelite and in places rubbery liquorice, what made it worse was that the bakelite areas, which was most of them, were apparently being absorbed into the aluminium, copious amounts of brake cleaner and gentle application of scrapers removed it. Fitting the new gasket was a lot easier and I coated it in grease for future removal - just in case. the clutch cover was refitted and all of the socket head screws. I stood up and with a big smug smile on my face, pulled in the super light clutch lever, it was astounding, so light, so ........................wait a minute, the lever shouldn't come back to the bars should it With a heavy heart and a feeling of resignation, I glanced over at the bench, there, stood on its end was the spangly new Ralf pusher - bottom. Good job Id greased the gasket then. Needless to say, I changed the pusher in record quick time - for me, and, it is fantastic, a highly recommended addition.I did get round to examining the old one, it was well and truly worn out with about 1.5mm of vertical lift within the splines - yep, knackered
Moral of the story, make sure you have refitted all of the components
