Due to a cancelled trip, I managed to get home for a couple of days
I've been looking through my parts stash, and I have a front hub, that apart from the screws that hold the chrome cover on having sheared, it looks like it will clean up OK.
It has a tag on it that says "KH250/400" Is this different to a KH 500 hub in any way? I need one for my KH500/H1F project....
I tried to post pictures, but apparently they have too many megapixels, despite me cropping them...
The KH500 one is different from an H1, and they don't interchange with the other models forks without either making up some spacers or grinding a bit of forkleg off. The KH uses a 4 bolt disc and an H1 a 6 bolt disc. The spindles are completely different too - KH has the threaded spindle with sleeved nuts on the outer side of the forks.
Good to know Hal, Thanks.
It's only the motor that is H1, the frame and most of the bits I have are KH. I have some NOS KH lower fork legs, some used but serviceable discs and callipers, so I should be OK.
I read that the wiring is different for the KH and H1 coils but I'll work with that

I used to know the previous skipper 20 years ago, an American fellow, who also ran the old Surama, which was a Jongert.
Then they built a new one at the Huisman yard. Not sure if there was another one after that?
I try and stay away from yachtie types these days. When I'm not working, I'm in my shed. The industry has changed a lot, and most of the people are in the business for the wrong reasons, so I don't socialise outside of my engine room these days.

So, what's the difference between a KH 500 hub, and a KH250/400 hub, anyone? I was planning on doing a wheel building course this winter, and I thought it would be nice if I could take the hub with me, and learn to lace it myself.
My parts book says part number 41034-021-21 But doesn't give another number for KH500, which it covers.
Does anyone have a part number for KH500 DRUM-ASSY,FR-BRK-BLK, and a part number for the 250/400 one to compare?
I found a NOS drum on e-bay with the above part number which is identical to the one I have, to look at, apart from mine's not black, and it has only 2 screws holding the chrome cover on, instead of 3. But of course I can't measure it.
Thanks Gary, that does help 4 holes for the disc like the one I have
I just ordered a KH parts book I'll be digging through boxes of bits again at the weekend
