Guiliara replica Two/Four seat

Post by Bic_Bicknell »

Finally got the Guiliara replica Two/Four seat fitted to my H2c. This has taken a while because the first seat I received from Bob didn't fit and it turned out that he'd built it on an H2B base so it was 30mm too long with the hinge positions in the wrong place. I took it apart to see if I could fit it but in the end, to cut a long story short, Bob just made me another at no cost and it arrived today.

Hinges and lock bracket bolt straight on and it fits really well, there's a slight warp but seriously nothing to notice and I don't think it's worse than the original. It might even bed down a bit more with being sat on after a while. The only thing missing is a mounting point for the bracket that limits the opening but it will be easy to fabricate one from sheet metal and screw on.

Overall the finish is really high quality and I have no problem with it on my bike (and I'm pretty fussy when it comes to the way things look and feel. I do have an original Two/Four cover which has the genuine moulded dice logo on the back panel which I might one day get adjusted to fit this seat to make it even more of an authentic looking replica - but it's from a Z900 seat so will need a bit of modification. I'll live with this first and see how it goes.

Great work from Bob and a great service too so if anyone has been hankering after one of these seats for years and generally envying the 250s and 400s that have them then look no further. :)

That's great service. Mistakes are sometimes made, but if they're rectified with no quibble, you can't ask for more than that.
If I can find a KH 500 tank in usable condition, I will definitely go for a standard seat from him.
Otherwise it will have to be a replica H1 tank and seat.
